Hi, I am pretty new to problems of this caliber. Anyway, when running sfc scan I get this,

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.3.9600]
(c) 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios.

I then tried running DISM only to get this error.

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.3.9600]
(c) 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\Windows\system32>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /Scanhealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 6.3.9600.17031

Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031

The component store is repairable.
The operation completed successfully.

C:\Windows\system32>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool

Use the "source" option to specify the location of the files that are required t
o restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see
Configure a Windows Repair Source.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

I'm lost at what to do. This laptop has not been able to connect to the internet because of this corruption caused after an update. I've researched this to see if any updates could have caused this but I don't see the updates in the list of installed updates that couldve caused this. I really will appreciate any help to get sfc to fix this corruption with CNBJ2530.DPB

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. I don't believe your issues to be related to Windows Update/Servicing but we will see. Please do the following.

Step#1 - Gather Info
1. Download SFCFix.exe and save this to your Desktop.
2. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
3. Double click on SFCFix.exe to open it.
4. Follow all on screen instructions and upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop named SFCFix.txt.
5. Please post the contents of this log in your next post. Thank you.

I tried doing so but I get a message that it failed to check for updates.

Failed to check for updates. This may be due to an internet connection problem or a temporary availability failure of the update servers. Please ensure you are using the latest version of the program before continuing.

When I go to network and sharing center I see access is denied and clicking windows firewall does nothing. When I click change adapter settings to a window does come up but nothing is available for me.

I tried doing so but I get a message that it failed to check for updates.

I should have mentioned for you to expect that. You can just hit enter on your keyboard to go past that step until a log is created. Thanks.

Ok the process finished. I have the log here.

I don't understand though because the problems are not resolved just yet.

I wouldn't expect them to yet. I was just gathering more info so I could appropriately prepare a fix. I'll be back in a few minutes with the fix.

Please do the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Step#2 - Verify Corruption is fixed
1. Right-click on the Start
w8start.png
button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
sfc /scannow

3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter.
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please upload CBS.txt to this thread

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

After rebooting the problem persists with my internet connectivity. No network access and no internet access appear on the status of the adapter. Any help with this issue? I do greatly appreciate the hard work done so far. I used to not se processor or RAM info on the system window under control panel and now it shows up. Just would like to get my wifi connection to work for the network adapter.

What we needed to do was to fix all corruption that you had so that we knew your issues weren't related to Windows Update/Servicing. This is done as your logs are clear now. At this point, your quickest path to a resolution would be to post an inquiry in our Windows 8 forum and let them know your issue. Explain that you were cleared from the Windows Update team so they don't go down that road. They should be able to assist you as they have far more knowledge on hardware/software than many of us here that specialize in Windows Update.
