Serviceinstaller detected as malware by windows defender it was quarantined by defender last December, but after downloading Malwarebytes i can no longer see it in the protection history and I can't seem to restore it, I already have problems installing driver updates and windows 10 updates, is there anyone here who can share "serviceinstaller" or can help me replace it manually, I have tried windows 10 reset, reinstalling windows with installation media from their website but none of them seem to work, always results in failure, windows reset just says "failed", so yeah if anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it, now windows can't detect my Nvidia graphics card and similar to other drives can't update and install it, please help.

I have seen this error when i try to update "other devices" on device manager which labels some as unknown device, one of these unknown device as microsoft display adapter error says configuration registry is corrupt which led me to: [SOLVED] - Configuration Registry Database Corrupt. So i followed the instructions and replace the DRIVERS on C:\Windows\System32\config folder, now the microsoft display adapter disappeared. So i was wondering if that detection which quarantined Serviceinstaller has something to do with it, I am using windows 10 Version 20H2 OS Build 19042.1083

Still can't install any driver updates through windows update, windows device manager still can't detect Nvidia graphics driver, and i can't install any nvidia graphics driver update, it says installation:failed, both from GeForce or manually installing it please help

We can use the error message to resolve your problems.

Please open the Command Prompt by typing cmd.exe into Start Menu, right-click on Cmd.exe, and open it as an administrator. Execute bellow commands one at a time and let us know the result of them.

Have you installed a cryptocoin miner?
No, I have Windows defender scanned my laptop, Kaspersky cloud security free before in uninstalled it nothing detected. Also tried zemana antimalware, hitman, malwarebytes did not detect anything as well.

Hello, @klintkvn

I suggest, before trying to install updates, to check your computer for malware. We can do this for you at the Security Arena Forum, here at Sysnative.

Let me know if you want to ask for the topic move to the Security Arena Forum.

Please clarify:

A windows reset failed and a windows clean install worked?

All important files were saved to another disk drive or the cloud?

Were some Windows updates successful or did all fail?

Did some third party drivers install and some fail?

Please run the Sysnative log collector:

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions - Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 + Vista
The last time I tried windows reset it failed, I've also tried reinstalling using windows media installation(tried on the same disk drive and from a flash drive) also failed, the latest windows update gets stuck at 20%(this is using windows update itself) and then fails to install, error 0x800f0831 same result when manually installing after downloading from windows update catalog.

I have updated drivers now after following:
[SOLVED] - Configuration Registry Database Corrupt
after also disabling digital signature, installed and updated drivers using snappy driver but it seems some like the nvidia drivers are not up to date so I updated it yet again using nvcleaninstall, the only problem now is windows update, installing the latest update still gets stuck at 20% it seems, did a scan with windows defender and malwarebytes, both did not detect any threats.

I'll try this again and will update you ASAP, i have previously tried resetting windows update components with this script and it seems to hang on me, while it was renaming the software distribution file.

Windows update troubleshooter just says i need to restart it like before but did not fix the installation. Same result for both manually installing and from windows update, error 0x800f0831, update: KB5009543, I downloaded stopwindowsupdate for now so that windows update would stop making my system slow because unless the updates successfully install, windows 10 update is just gonna repeat itself, gonna try again someday because updating for my system takes too much time.
