Hi HHC :)

My name is Aura and I'll be assisting you with your issue. Can you give me a description of the issue you're having?

Many many thanks, Aura,
From Windows 8.1, my system got upgraded by Microsoft to Windows 10.
As of now, updates are being done automatically except every now and then, a notice appears that ‘we are downloading some updates…’ Few minutes later, another notice appears stating that ‘Something has happened and we could not…’ Further information states that installation of Devnagiri and Hindi fonts failed giving error code 0x80073712.
I've already uploaded link of cbs.txt file through Dropbox.
Here is a link for access to component file (zipped) created with the help of RegBak software.

Well, your CBS.log shows that SFC didn't return anything, so I would like to see if DISM have anything to report first.

DISM - Fixing Component Store Corruption
Follow the instructions below to run a DISM operation on your system.
  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
    Code:
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • Let the scan run until the end (100%). Depending on your system, it can take some time;
  • Copy the C:\Windows\Logs\DISM folder and C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log file on your Desktop, then right-click on it, go to Send to... and select Compressed .zip archive;
  • Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;
Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the DISM scan is completed, it won't contains the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

Sadly the DISM.log doesn't contain traces of a DISM scan, hence why I need both the DISM.log and CBS.log. Is it possible to run DISM again and send me both logs this time?

Apparently, running DISM fixed 9 corrupt manifest, all of which are related to the update you just tried to install. Are you able to run DISM again, and upload the new CBS.log and DISM.log? I want to see if DISM repairs them again. If it does, it means that it's stuck in a corruption loop.

Another fresh set of both log files are dropped in a dropbox. Here are the links

9 more corrupt manifest files got repaired by DISM, but they aren't the same as the last ones...

What is the KB number(s) of the update(s) you cannot install?

Right now, some updates are taking place for quite sometime and the notice for failure of installation is yet not reported by Microsoft. I'll let you know as soon as it ends.

Both updates (Devnagiri Supplemental Fonts and Hindi Typing), installed successfully. Earlier installation was failing continuously.

Thanks, Aura, for your kind assistance in the matter

No problem HHC, you're welcome :)
