I have deployed Windows Server 2022 failing to install KB5025230 with 0x800f0982 error code.

Tried running "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" and "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth still cannot resolve the issue.

I have attached CBS log and component scan log.

Thank you in advance for the support.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

It seems we'll need to fix fix some other things as well, so please provide a copy of the Components Based Servicing hive in your next post as well.

Export CBS (Component Based Servicing) hive
  • Click on the Start button and type regedit
  • When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.
    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing
  • Once selected, click File > Export....
  • Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (*.*).

  • Name this file ComponentBasedServicing (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Right-click on the saved file and choose Send > Compressed (zipped) Folder.
  • Attach the .ZIP file to your next post.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Hi, thanks for the fix. The issue solved and the windows server 2022 able to update to 20348.1668 build. But i still upload the CBS and SFCfix files for your reference. I spotted error like missing path for 20348.1663.

Hi,

This looks good, are there any remaining issues or is everything up and running?

Hi, yes everything running good. Really thank for the help. But i got 1 question for the policydefinition cannot copy from any windows version to server? Because i see the fix mainly for the policydefinition.

You're welcome. Glad to hear the problem is solved. Yes, some of the GroupPolicy components were corrupted.
I'll mark this thread as solved.
