Server 2022 - DISM fails

As of today, my Windows Server 2022 has refused to do windows updates. It seems there are a number stacked up and they wo't complete and fail during install.

DISM fails with "The source files could not be found" with error 0x800f081f.

Also, the server will no longer smoothly shut down and hangs waiting on the user profile service, but that seems to align with the Windows Update Service getting hung. IF i ask Windows Update to look for new updates it just hangs and will never recover and that seems to keep windows from smoothly shutting down.

I tried everything i can think of to get this server repaired and back to an ability to update itself so I'm hopeful the volunteers on this forum can assist me.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.

• Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
• Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
• Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

• SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
• Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
• Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.

DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
