[SOLVED] Server 2019 fails to update with error 0x800f0986 since April 2024

Since about late March our server has been failing to update with cumulative updates for April, May and now June.
The system is a Dell base unit with Server 2019 Standard V1809, currently active at build 17763.5579


The SFC process ran as administrator fails repeatedly at 81% verification with the wording "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."
DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth then failed at 100% with error 0xd0000034 and states "DISM failed. No opertation was performed."
Attached is a screengrab image of the the SFC and DISM output from the command prompt it was run from.

Component Checker output file and CBS folder zipped are also attached.

Grateful for any help you can provide in getting this process working.

I forgot to mention this is a production server also hosting a SQL environment so I will have to be careful about rebooting schedules, it also needs to be done remotely as there is no option to be in the building after hours.
 
Since the initial report I have had to restart the server for a SQL related matter, now the SFC completes successfully but the DISM process still fails with error 0xd0000034.
I can if needed clear the CBS log and start it fresh before any such routines are run again if this will provide a clearer indication of the issues.
