  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the System File Checker and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:

Hi,

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Hi,

Do you have a similar server to check if the following folders exist? If so copy them in a ZIP-file and attach this file to your next post.
Code:
C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_netfx4-presentationnative_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_4.0.15744.161_none_e5a433a9fc343a98
C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_mscorlib_b77a5c561934e089_4.0.15744.161_none_5f36479c67063e6a
C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_netfx4-clr_dll_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_4.0.15744.161_none_7e0a661799cff329
C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_netfx4-clrjit_dll_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_4.0.15744.161_none_621aa6172ed6fe4a

Yes - attached are the folders from another server. However this folder "amd64_netfx4-presentationnative_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_4.0.15744.161_none_e5a433a9fc343a98" was empty.

Yes - that has fixed it! I was able to apply the latest CU update successfully.
Thank you for you help.

I have another server that has a similar issue. Shall I log a separate thread for that? Its actually the server I had cloned this one from.

Hi,

You're welcome. Glad to here the issue has been resolved, and many thanks for providing the files I couldn't found... (y)

Start a new thread for the other server, then we can mark this thread as solved.
