Hi Sysnative.

Trying to patch a server 2019, build 17763.5696 with latest cumulative Windows patch (june 2024).
Doing so from the GUI - results in a 0x80073712 error.
Trying to apply the patch manually - it just bugs out /quits in the middle of installation - no error message.
CBS.zip and ComponentsScanner result attached.

SFC result:

DISM restorehealth result:

Hi,

We'll need to replace a number of files, so here's the first fix.

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

SFCFix has been run - attached SFCFIX.txt

Here are the results after running the DISM command:

Great, please attempt to update. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs.

And Windows update seems to be working again!
Great job Maxstar - thanks a bunch for your help fixing this problem!
