First post here.

Machine is running Server 2016. SFC comes back with file corruptions that cannot be fixed, and DISM comes back with:
Error: 0x800f081f

The source files could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see Configure a Windows Repair Source.

I've tried clearing the component store as well and it also results in an error. Currently, I cannot update Windows Server and I also cannot download anything that might use .NET because part of this error is not allowing me to install any new .net components.

ComponentsScanner and save it to your desktop and run it again.
  • Right-click ComponentsScanner.exe and select "Run as administrator", click Yes on the UAC (User Account Control) prompt which appears.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Once complete, a report will be saved to your desktop called ComponentsScanner.txt.
  • Post the logfile ComponentsScanner.txt as attachment into your next reply.

Step 2. Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Open an elevated command prompt and run the following command. Attach Dirlist.txt to your next post.
Code:
dir /s /a "%windir%/System32\config\TxR" > "%userprofile%\Desktop\Dirlist.txt"

1. Is this server connected to an WSUS server?
2. Please open and elevated prompt and run the following commands:
Code:
attrib -r -s -h %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*
del %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*

1. Not to my knowledge. It's just a standalone server.
2. Result is below:

Are you able to restart the server in safe mode to run the same commands again....

I'm not sure if I can. I'm remote from the machine and nobody on-site has the ability to run the command. I can see what I can do though.

Ok, but are you able to clone this server to load in another virtual enviroment?

I'll see what I can do there as well. The resources for this client are small, so give me a little time and I'll see how I can manage this.

Great, please run the following DISM command and post the result to see if still shows error 6801:. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
