Hi there,
Having an issue with one of our Server 2016 VM's on installing Feb CU update.
Getting error "Security Update for Windows (KB4537764)" could not be installed because of error 2147956498 "The component store has been corrupted."
Also error 0x80073712 appears.

sfc /scannow (shows no issues)
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (now shows operation completed successfully, but first time it successfully did repair some files after using a source Server 2016 wim file)
I have ran through the resetting of Windows updates by stopping services, renaming the softwaredistribution and catroot2 folder and starting services again.
Manually dl'd the update from the update catalogue too bit this fails also.

I have attached the cbs log file.
I ran sfcfix - it seemed to stop after a while without giving any logs or errors and been like that for an hour. Not sure if its completed or not. See below screen grab.

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out.
Thanks

The sfcfix.exe tool did actually finish - I just had to press a key for it to move to the next screen. It found no errors. Please see attachment.
sfc /scannow, dism and sfcfix all show no errors - so I am unsure why the update cannot be installed.

I've attached updated CBS log showing some errors specifically "ERROR_SXS_COMPONENT_STORE_CORRUPT" after attempting another CU update install

No its ok - we ended up having to restore the machine from backup to get it to work.
