Ran SFC scan. fails at 39 percent "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation”

Ran chkdsk /r and let it restart. Tried SFC and DISM again, both failed.

DISM runs to 100% and sits there, then says "error 0x800f081f source files could not be found"

DISM version 10.0.14393.4168 Image version 10.0.14393.4169

I noticed this all because windows updates are failing. Servicing stack 2022-03 KB 5011570 went through, but before that one 2022-03 Cumulative KB5011495 has been failing since it came out. It downloads and tries and restarts but then it shows it failed.

SFCfix also tries to run DISM and gets the same source error, and then the log file shows it didn't find anything.

Thank you for this. I was able to run this attachment and it appeared to help. I am now able to succesfully run an sfc scan, but it reports that there were corruptions found but unable to fix and to check the CBS.log. I also ran DISM again which completed but said it could not reach the source.

After rebooting and trying things again when I go to windows update it tries to get KB5011495 bu then shows error code 0x80073712 and gives me the option to retry. here is another CBS folder compressed link, after I ran the sucessful sfc scan: CBS_2.zip

I apologize, I did not do your last step to copy the fix file. here is is:

I'm not sure what its doing. The first file you gave me it went very quickly. This one the file seems smaller, but the SFCFix program is sitting at "Processing directive 1 of 1 (PowerCopy ::) and I have been letting it go for like 15 minutes. I'm afraid to kill it as I am not sure if its still doing something.

It can sometimes appear like it's hung, especially if there is problems with taking ownership of a file or folder. It seems to have ran successfully though.

Could you please open an elevated command prompt and then enter:

Rich (BB code):
sfc /scannow

If it doesn't find any problems then please attempt Windows Update again, otherwise please attach your latest CBS log.

Could you please run SFCFix again using the attached .zip?

sfc scan now said there were no integrity violations and I am in the process of running the updates that were previously failing. It appears to have been fixed. Thank you very much!

That's great! Please let me know if all the offered updates install correctly and I'll mark this thread as solved.
