Hello and welcome

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named LiquidTension. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phrase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

Hi chriscanfixit,

Please do the following:

  • Using Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\servicing\packages.
  • Find the following file: Package_11_for_KB2729094~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.cat
  • Right-click the file, click Properties, followed by Digital Signatures.
  • Click Details, and then click View Certificate. Under Valid from, note the second date listed (the date the certificate expired). Click OK, click OK, and then click OK again.
  • Change the date on your computer to before the expiration date noted in the certificate. For instructions on how to do this, see Set the clock.
  • Click the Start button
    4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg
, followed by Control Panel. Click Programs, and under Programs and Features, click View installed updates.
  • Search for the update in the aforementioned file name (in this case KB2729094), and click Uninstall.
  • Rerun the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) as you did before.
  • Repeat the process for the following files:
    • Package_13_for_KB2722913~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.cat
    • Package_15_for_KB2722913~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.cat
    • Package_2_for_KB2705219~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1.cat
    • Package_5_for_KB2647753~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.3.1.cat
  • In your next reply, please attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.

I did as you instructed. When going to the remove the updates it currently displays no updates are installed....

I tried to run a sfc /scannow after performing a chkdsk C: /r

I get an error "Windows recource protection could not perform the requested operation.

The CBS.log displays the following.
