I have not bee able to install the "Security Monthly Quarterly Update" for Feb or March to install. They fail with the code 80070005. I have done the following.
1. Ran Windows Update Preparedness Tool which fixed nothing.
2. Ran Windows Update Troubleshooter and one problem was found and not fixed.
3. Ran SFC /SCANNOW and no problems were found.

I tried reinstalling the updates after each step and they failed every time.

I am at a loss to figure out where to go from here. I have attached the CBS.log and CheckSure.log files.

The re-release of the Feb 2018 update by Microsoft did install, so I tried to install the March update and it failed again. I am attaching the CBS.Log in zip format file from that attempt.

Make sure you have saved all your data before running this fix as your computer will reboot after the fix!

FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
2. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
3. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
4. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

IE v11 and it is up-to-date.

Have not tried installing the update in a Clean Boot state.

Ran the update in a clean boot and it failed. Have attached the CBS file in zip format.

It can be disabled for sure. Will that be sufficient?

BTW, I normally work 9am-1pm CDT, so it is time for me to leave today.

Unfortunately, no, that wouldn't be enough. Okay, have a good night. I'll be extremely busy tomorrow, so I can't guarantee I'll be able to assist until later at night.

The update installed after I uninstalled the McAfee Antivirus. Thanks so much and I am working on getting the OK to send a donation.
