Scaling at 175% on SP4 causes severe instability

Hello,

So I managed to track down a very annoying issue, in which that Edge would crash whenever I opened a new window. However, the issue appears to be scaling. When I put the scaling at 200% (recommended) or 150%, there is no issue, but when I put it at 175% which is perfect for me, Edge will crash whenever a new window opens.

From my analysis of the Event Viewer, it appears that "Windows.UI.Xaml.dll" bugs out at a 175% scaling ratio when it has to do a sudden rendering/calculation job (such as opening a new window in Edge), which just crashes the application. I've also seen that when I erratically drag a window of an open application around, it would crash. Dragging tabs in Edge would also crash. However, Chrome works just fine, which is strange.

Here's the full log:

It's always the same. I ran sfc /scannow and DISM, and both came back with zero errors, which shows that this isn't a system file corruption, it's just poor coding. However, if anyone could help me out with this, it'd be really awesome, as 200% has just too little screen estate for comfortable use.

Hi,

Are all the latest firmware updates installed (specifically the 17/2 firmware updates)?

I just changed my SP4 is 175% and it seems to be working fine - browsing in Edge showed no issues at all.

Personally, I use 200% because I use it as a tablet more than a laptop and 175% makes the buttons a touch small for tablet use. Although the extra screen space is nice...

Hi folks

It looks like a bug that affected File Explorer, Internet Explorer, and Edge too. It is supposed to have been fixed by a March 2nd (or thereabouts) update. I noticed a few more updates today (I believe we're a Patch Tuesday today?)... It also seems to be build-dependent, so the Insiders folks got to enjoy the bug at one point too.
