Good day dear sirs,

My PC runs on Windows 10 Home (1909) since I upgraded it through update from Windows 7 in december last year.

Strangely msconfig only shows Windows 7 in the boot section.

Don't know when that started
Don't know whether that is a problem (maybe when need to recover from BSOD?)
Monthly updates run fine . .

What can or should I do about this please?

Thanks for your time and consideration!

Fritz

I don't think "that started" but I believe this remains unchanged if the Windows 10 is the result of an upgrade. That data is taken from whatever was on the boot record when the machine had its first OS installed (or when a completely clean reinstall is done, including reformatting the OS drive).

I don't have time to verify that at the moment, though, and my one "Win 8.1 to Win 10" upgraded machine is not available at the moment for me to check if it's still showing Windows 8.1 there even though it's been running Windows 10 for years now.

"remaining unchanged after upgrading to WIN10 . . " could very well be the case . .

Although . . I remember couple of weeks ago entering repair-/restart modus after BSOD I had the choice to go directly to WIN 10 . . but maybe that is not using the same source as msconfig ;-)

All of mine are Win 10. Of course, the ones I can look at either came with WIN 10 or was a completely clean install. The only one I have that's an Upgrade from 7 -10 is my wife's machine. I'll check it when I get home from work if Brian doesn't verify first.

If anyone else has a machine that's Upgraded from 7-10 let us know what your boot states in msconfig, please.
