Remove preview from the taskbar

WinAero can do this. Just open it and click Disable thumbnails, then Apply. Downloads / Software / Taskbar Thumbnails Tuner

When there's a program open (google chrome as shown in the screenshot, for example), if i move the cursor over it, a window preview will pop-up. I would like to disable this :)

There are two TaskbarThumbsTuner.exe at the main folder and one of them is inside a folder named "Win8Native". Should i use this one? Thanks
Extract both files into a folder on your desktop. Then run the one in the main folder - not the Win8Native one.

While I really like Winaero Tweaker and some of their other tools (like Winaero Tweaker and Get Windows 7 Games for Windows 10) their tweaker does not cover all tweaks as easily as some other tweakers.
So if not too late, you might check out 7+ Taskbar Tweaker. It concentrates on the Windows Taskbar functions, features and behavior. As such, it contains a simple tweak to disable these previews. On the left side under "Hovering", tick the "Nothing" option and that's it - the change takes place immediately.

Ah, I see what you mean. But in either case, neither program is "installed" in the same sense as major apps, and security programs are installed, with a bunch of settings in the registry.

Since this thread is still active i would like to ask about something else. I've already changed my PC settings to never show those options (search, share, start, devices and settings) when i move the mouse cursor to the top right corner but it always shows up when i do that. Any suggestion? Thanks
Those are called Hot Corners and fortunately (IMO anyway) no longer in W10. See How To Disable the Charms Bar and Switcher Hot Corners in Windows 8.
There's already a folder with the name of EdgeUI. Should i still create a new folder or do i change this one that already exists?
If already there, look inside and see if the values of the two DWORD entries are set to 1.
