Hi there,

Two years ago, I made my computer. It works pretty well, except for quite monthly BSOD.
Today it was enough: I want to know what's going on.

So, if I follow the jcgriff2 thread, you will find useful informations attached.

Thank you for helping a poor soul in distress.

Infos :
Windows7 64-bit installed by myself and full retail version
Two years for Os and Hardware installation

Intel i5-2500k
ATI Radeon 4800
Asustek

Dear,

C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP file might be missing (i.e. it was not created during the last bugcheck) due to several reasons - most commonly, because of incorrect Startup and Recovery or Virtual Memory settings. Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Press WIN+R.
  2. Type %windir%\system32\SystemPropertiesAdvanced.exe and press ENTER.
  3. Click Settings... under Startup and Recovery section.
  4. Validate the following settings under System failure section:
    • Write an event to the system log is selected.
    • Write debugging information is set to either Automatic memory dump or Kernel memory dump.
    • Dump file is set to %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP.
  5. Take a screenshot of this (Startup and Recovery) window.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Settings... under Performance section.
  8. Navigate to Advanced tab.
  9. Click Change... under Virtual memory section
  10. Validate the following settings:
    • Automatically manage paging file size for all drives is selected or
    • Automatically manage paging file size for all drives is deselected.
      • C: drive has Initial size (MB) and Maximum size (MB) under Custom size are both set to at least 1536 or
      • C: drive has "System managed size" selected.
  11. Take a screenshot of this (Virtual Memory) window.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Click OK.
  14. Click OK.
  15. Reboot the computer if prompted.
  16. Attach both of the screenshots you made here.
Thank you.

Hello,

I made the modifications. You can find the screenshots attached.

Could you please try installing this latest version of drivers for your network card? This seems to be the only 3rd party driver on the raw stack of the hung (#3) processor and it is more than 3 years old. We need to make sure it is not the one causing the issues.

Hi,

I have updated my LAN network card with the driver from the Asus Website, since I cannot access to your file (it claims identification).

What next ?

Hi Mathias,

You can try this link.

Once the drivers updated, you should wait to see if the BSOD re-occurs.

Here it comes.

For information, it was during Civilization V, all graphics at high quality.

Thanks.

I see one of the temperatures was 90C, which is quite a lot. Do you think you could try to clean your computer from dust?
