Hi All,

Since a week or so the read/write speed seems topped on my usb3.2 gen1 ports.
On another pc, also W10, I'm having the actual speeds that I want.
I already tried to remove all drivers from USB in device manager but didn't help.

Hopefully someone can take a look into this.

Windows 10 home 22H2
Specification Katana GF76 11SC

What are the specs on the faster PC?

The test size setting needs to be the same. Recommend 16GB size for more real-world results. Source
Specs of other laptop is windows 10 home, usb 3.0. Almost the same.
The 16gb doesn't matter much here tbh. Just did a smaller file but result on bigger will be almost the same-ish.
I'm just using these sandisk flash drives for a while now and always had 150/60MBs.
Point is speeds dropped (or better topped out at) to 1/4 of the ones I used to have.

edit: can do a test though on a larger filesize in CrystalDisk but the outcome will be the same tbh

Are ports USB-C or A? If flash drive + port is A only one "rail" is used. Best combo is C Port with C flash or A Flash with converter if C Port. Also front ports are slower than rear ones.

1x Type-C USB3.2 Gen1
2x Type-A USB3.2 Gen1
1x Type-A USB2.0

Tried both on A and C but same : 15MB write speeds max
Even tried an M.2 ssd in an Inatec adapter which is also topped at 40/15. Should normally be much higher.
Point remains, it was ok since I bought this laptop ;) (12.2021)

What about the flash drives? They do wear out.
Sure but tested on another laptop and 60MB/s. Also tested some other flashdrives with same 60MB/s and same topped out at 15MB/s....
There's something in system that tops the speed to a certain limit. That's for sure.

In elevated Command Prompt type netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled and try now. If no help or finished doing, revert by netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

Same after netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

Did you actually update them? Also, since your computer is Windows 11 ready, maybe that would help.
Removed the drivers, rebooted so they re-installed. For the rest tried to find an earlier one for the Intel USB but didn't find any. Neither on MSI site or on Intel site.
You suggest to update to W11? Other laptop's running on W10 also so not sure that I would update due to some usb thing.
As mentioned that would not let us figure out the issue right now....

First try a brand new flash drive. If no good, unfortunately in your country, MSI phone help is only available for laptops. If you're still under warranty, try for a claim.

Sry but nothing to do with brand new flash drives since the one using (and other ones tested) work fine on another pc.
Don't think the ports are broken. Imo just some bad update of w10. But hard to figure out which one(s).
Also imo when usb ports are broken they wouldn't be working 'fine' on 15MB/s...all of them.
Anyway we'll see. Thx for the response.

I'm familiar with the Oct. update (CVEs) and there's nothing that could affect USB. If you really want to, you could roll back the update, but if it doesn't work, reinstall lit.

As a user, you have no need to install previews. Post your own downloads From View Update History>Quality Updates for just the last 4 months. Same for Other Updates (Scroll down to them). Use the Snipping Tool or similar since Windows doesn't allow copy/paste in that screen.

Yea I know the last 3 ones were not needed bcs they were in optional, so I thought well maybe it can help. But that was already after the problem existed.
The problem date occured aorund 04.10 iirc.
Can i redo to f.e. 04.10 without losing data etc?
