Hello,

Since some years I have the issue that when a re-start of my desktop is necessary, my sceen remains black although my computer seems to run.
Now I have to update from Windows 7 to 10, this seems to be impossible due to that re-start issue.
I ran SFC /SNANOW and after that the most recent SFCfix.
The result is:
AutoAnalysis::
CORRUPT: C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-naturallanguage6_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_fc00d9a9415b5f6e\NlsData000c.dll

SUMMARY: Some corruptions could not be fixed automatically. Seek advice from helper or sysnative.com.

CBS & SFC total fixed corruption count: 0

AutoAnalysis:: directive completed successfully.

I don't think this is caused by malware.
Possibly this corrupt file causes also my re-start issue.
I hope anyone knows a solution..

Henk

in addition to the information above:
the file NlsData000c.dll seems to be missing

I'm trying to find the file somewhere now..
Can the missing file has impact on the re-start issue?

During the restart I hear 6 or 7 beeps

Henk

Hello and welcome!

Here is the file.

No, it cannot be causing the issues you are experiencing.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

SFC Scan

  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Hi Softwaremaniac,

I think you are right, SFC showed no issue. I aattached both documents again.
Thank you very much for helping even when it wasn't your day!!

Do you might have an idea what I should do with the re-start / 7 or 8 beeps which has the black screen as a result at the end?
After turning the desktop of for aproximately 15 minutes it works again. So normaly not a big deal, but now it blocking an upgrade to windows 10...

Kind regards and felice navidad!
Henk

Hi!

You should consult your motherboard manual for the beeps as I do not know what they could mean. It is possible that there is an underlying hardware problem or a BIOS issue.
