Hi, recently install a new SSD and add 2 RAM modules (4 total) to my PC (3 years old), clean install SO and getting random BSOD with different errors, I think is RAM issue but I want a second opinion

  • A brief description of your problem (but you can also include the steps you tried): Getting BSOD ramdomly after new SSD and RAM installed
  • System Manufacturer? Custom build
  • Laptop or Desktop? Desktop
  • OS ? (Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista) Windows 10
  • x86 (32bit) or x64 (64bit)? x64
  • What was original installed OS on system? Windows 10
  • Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? Full retail
  • Age of system? (hardware) 3 years
  • Age of OS installation? 1 week
  • Have you re-installed the OS? Yes
  • CPU Core i7-7700K
  • RAM (brand, EXACT model, what slots are you using?) Corsair CMK8GX4M1A2400C16 4x slots 8 GB
  • Video Card ASUS STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING
  • MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop) ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX CODE
  • Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this one) Corsair CX650M
  • What security software are you using? (Firewall, antivirus, antimalware, antispyware, and so forth) Kaspersky Internet Security 2021
  • Are you using proxy, vpn, ipfilters or similar software? No
  • Are you using Disk Image tools? (like daemon tools, alcohol 52% or 120%, virtual CloneDrive, roxio software) No
  • Are you currently under/overclocking? Are there overclocking software installed on your system? No overclocking, only ASUS ROG software

Thanks for your time and help!!

Have you ran MemTest86 for at least four passes?

Test RAM with PassMark MemTest86

Unfortunately, it isn't unusual for RAM to be defective despite being new.

I would suggest removing ASUS AI Suite 3 since it has caused crashes in the past. I would also strongly suggest avoiding programs like Driver Booster 8 since they can install incompatible and outdated drivers. The only source for driver updates should be Windows Update and the manufacturer support page.

Sorry I forgot to say, yes I ran MemTest86 for about 16 hours (4 test completed) and no errors found. I will going to uninstall Driver Booster and AI Suite and keep checking.

Thank you for your time and help.

Update: after uninstall Driver Booster and AI Suite, I get another BSOD so I think that this is not the problem :(

Update: Last sunday reinstalled SO, install only drivers from Windows update and a couple manually from vendor webSite (chipset and CPU cooler) and randomly get five BSOD, one or two per day

Thank you for your help and patience

Looking at the dump files and considering that you've also reinstalled the operating system. I'm inclined to suggest that this is related to some form of hardware failure.

What SSD did you install the operating system to? The old one or the new one? Seems like you have two? Kingston and Samsung?

According to the motherboard support page, apparently 2400MHz for the RAM is considered as a overclock, have you used XMP at all? You may want to check the settings in the ROG software.

Both of them are new, Kingston contains SO and Samsumg my documents.
Now change my RAM to 2133 MHz and test stability, in the past when I have only 2 RAM slots it works fine with 2400 MHz

Thank you for your help

Okay, let's see how it goes. If you have any more crashes, then please upload them using the Sysnative file collection tool as before.
