After setting up and running a new build for a couple of weeks, i'm now getting lots of different types of BSOD and restarts, every few days.

Have included the files, any help would be appreciated, because i'm at a loss, as to the cause

· OS - Windows 8
· x64
· New install with Windows 8 OEM

· AMD FX 6100 six-core 3.3GHz
· AMD Radeon HD 6700
· ASUS M5A99X EVO
· Power Supply - Powercool GT 700W 80+ 12v V2.2 PSU

ASUS Gamer OSD Utility Outdated:

Remove the ASUS Gamer OSD utility. It is out of date and likely to cause conflicts on the system.

asusgsb.sys Thu Sep 27 07:14:50 2007 (46FBACCA)
ASUS Virtual Video Capture Device Driver. Installed as a part of the Asus Gamer OSD utility.

ATKDispLowFilter.sys Tue May 13 21:03:13 2008 (482A5671)
ASUSTeK Display Lower Filter. Installed as a part of the Asus Gamer OSD utility.

I would also advise removing other ASUS utilities installed and updating all ASUS drivers to Windows 8 drivers; you still have quite a few Windows 7 drivers on the system.

BitDefender Can Cause BSODs

Personally, I would suggest removing BitDefender and replacing it with Windows Defender as your security solution. I have had problems with BitDefender causing blue screens on my own systems in the past.

AMD Drivers for Display Card Without AMD Software:

Install just your AMD drivers for the display card. The software that comes bundled with it can lead to some of the crashes you are getting.

Hardware Diagnostics (If Needed):

The above steps may fix the blue screen issues. Test the system out for a few days after doing the above before proceeding to the next set of steps.

Since you are receiving multiple BugCheck codes, the crashes may be hardware related. Run the following hardware diagnostics.

NOTE:
  • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

  • Run FurMark to test the display card for artifacts and temperature issues.
    FurMark Display Card Stress Test

  • Run Display card memory tests to check the display card for memory problems.
  • Run Disk Check with both boxes checked for all HDDs. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using Event Viewer. In Event Viewer, expand Windows Logs,

click Application to let it load, right click Application and click Find.... Search for chkdsk or wininit to find the logs.
For any drives that do not give the message that no problems were found, run the disk check again. You do not want the message shown in red below.
You do want the message shown in blue below.

Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
Windows has made corrections to the file system

    Some helpful links:

  • Run all Basic tests with SeaTools: S.M.A.R.T. Check, Short Drive Self Test, Drive Information, Short Generic, and Long Generic. Run the tests for all HDDs.
  • Run Memtest86+ for at least 7-10 passes. It may take up to 22 passes to find problems. Make sure to run it once after the system has been on for a few hours and is warm, and

then also run it again when the system has been off for a few hours and is cold.
    Test RAM With Memtest86+

  • Run Prime95 to test your CPU, RAM modules, and general hardware.
    Prime95 Hardware Stress Testing Steps

Outdated and Problematic Drivers:

You should update/replace/remove the following drivers. Any drivers that are known to cause BSODs, please remove the software or remove the drivers and then remove the
device; steps to do so are given after the list of outdated drivers.

To update drivers, make sure to download the drivers from the manufacturer and not using 3rd party programs. Your drivers should be found from your motherboard support site (ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.) or your vendor support site (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Sony, etc.) first. If you have devices you bought yourself, the drivers for those devices need to be downloaded from the manufacturer support site for those devices. If you need help, let us know.

To remove drivers, do so by uninstalling the device or software associated with the driver. Devices can be uninstalled through device manager, and then the device itself should be physically removed from the system if possible.

3rd Party Drivers:

The following is for information purposes only. My recommendations were given above. The drivers that follow belong to software or devices that were not developed by Microsoft. Any drivers in red should be updated/replaced/removed. You can find links to the

driver information and where to update the drivers in the section after the code box:
