Hello fair people of the forums!

Intro

I am making a post because I see some expert advice and guidance towards resolving my windows 7 bluescreen problems. I'd be happy to provide any and all information you may require regarding my setup in order to assist in nailing down the problem I'm having.

I haven't acted until now as the bluescreen problems have been so far apart that I've just put up with it, however recently the problem seems to have increased in frequency and it is on the back of yet another unexplained bluescreen that I write you in desperation requesting your kind assistance.

I am to a degree technically savvy, I have built machines in the past and I have applied sound logic to most of the problems I have encountered and fixed them without too many issues but unfortunately this problem is so random and coupled with my lack of knowledge with what information within a mini dump means and the fact that it seems to be crashing as a result of different things means I'm lost as to where to go next.

Setup

I5 processor 2.8 OC 4.0 by Overclockers.co.uk before dispatch
AMD Radeon HD 5970
Corsair 750W power supply
8GB Evo Geil RAM
Asus P7P55D-E Motherboard
2x SSD 120GB and 240GB
1x 2TB HD
CPU is cooled by a corsair self contained water cooling system.

If I recall correctly, the purchase was made roughly 2 years 4 months ago and my last format was because I got the 240GB SSD,

The problem

Until recently it had only been when playing games on my projector and having youtube open on the second monitor that the PC had been crashing. I have been using google chrome for a while now and I had suspected that the HTML5 had been causing some problems in conjunction with the games being played at the same time, I don't recall an instance where just a game has blue screened the system, however I could be mistaken. I recently booted the PC from fresh, opened chrome and it blue screened immediately, I restarted and opened chrome, everything was perfectly fine, same tabs loaded as before. I thought I'd give firefox a hand and use flash instead just in case it was the HTML5 and it has just blue screened on me again, I wasn't playing any videos, but the browser was loaded.

Here is a screenshot of BlueScreenView.

I try to keep up to date with my windows updates on occasion, they are currently set to automatic, I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my motherboard and graphics card. The BlueScreenView screenshot is from this boot only, it is clear to see the frequency of the blue screens and they seem to have been happening more frequently as of late.

More recently I had experienced a problem where I switched my PC on and it went into a recovery screen saying that windows had failed to start and attempted to repair the problem, after it went over that unsuccessfully I restarted and everything was fine. I have also had a problem recently where I lost all internet access, despite being on a hardwired LAN and not changing anything myself, I merely system restored and it resolved the issue. I run MSE for protection on the PC, on occasion run malwarebytes, CCleaner and Revo uninstaller to remove anything installed without my knowledge. I don’t recall having as many blue screen issues prior to the format, they did happen as I had BlueScreenView installed then, however it was so infrequent I wasn't in a hurry to address it.

In conclusion

That's all the pertinent information I can recall from the top of my head, if you would like anymore information just ask and I will do my best to provide it, any instruction on how to obtain the more complicated information would be appreciated.

TL;DR

My computer is blue screening, the reasons it is doing so do not make any sense, please help!

The floor is yours, thanks in advance for your time.

Thanks very much!

Please undo this ASAP by loading optimized BIOS defaults, and then please let us know if the issues persist at default clocks.

Patrick

The overclocking has been undone, defaults have been restored and run the CPU at its intended speed before as a test, bluescreens have still occured.

Can you please do it again so the next crash that's generated is not whilst the CPU is overclocked?

Regards,

Patrick

:thumbsup2:

Great, let me know if you experience any crashes at stock settings now, and if so, attach the latest non-OC crash dump in your next post.

Regards,

Patrick
