[SOLVED] Question Regarding Changes to Patch Tuesday

Hi,

Over the last few months I've got into the habit of only installing Security patches in order to avoid upgrading to Windows 10, and now have about 20 Optional patches sitting around in Windows Update, including KB2952664.
If I decide to install the monthly roll-ups Microsoft are planning to release starting October 11th, should I install all the outstanding "optional" patches I currently have beforehand? Does this apply to hidden patches as well? Thanks in advance.

This is really up to how you want to handle your updates. If your view is that you only want critical/security updates then you don't need to worry about the Optional patches.

- The "Win 10 update nagware" has been removed from the "Optional Updates".
- Those "Roll Up" updates will also - step by step - include more previous "Optional updates", including the socalled "Telemetry" updates. There're ways to switch off that "telemetry/snooping" software:
