Hello,

anyone knows program which can rename and reorder sub-windows on the taskbar. By sub-window I mean e.g. Firefox, which itself has many windows!

I tried:
- stardock groupy, but it doesn't work and is very buggy
- 7+ taskbar, doesn't remember order of windows even when i set it to launch at startup and prevent Firefox from running on the background!

I have too many windows!

I would appreaciate it thanks!

Why, if I may ask, are you not using tabs in the browsers, rather than separate windows, and, since this is Windows 10 we're talking about, virtual desktops to organize your work in a way that makes sense for you?

It seems to me like you are, as they say in the area where I live, "going around Jake's barn," to get something that can already be accomplished slightly differently using Windows 10 built-in features and features of the web browsers themselves.

Not true, if I had to switch to another desktop each time I want to try another window... I have also other reasons to not use virtual desktops...

Are you talking about the icons in the taskbar?

Take a look at Rocket Dock This hasn't been updated in a while but it works (I use it).

Or Nexus
Thanks for answer, but this doesn't unfortunately solve my problem. Yes I Am talking about windows on the taskbar. E.g. if you have multiple Firefox windows, "sub-windows", I Am talking about changing their order how they appear on taskbar. As I have 1000 tabs and tons of windows all the times, as I read a lot! I think I even tried rocketdock, i downloaded it right now, it doesn't do what I want at al....

They should be in the order of how they were opened. I'm not sure about this.

A program would need to know what parameters you'd want as far as "order" goes. Like alphabetically, chronologically, etc. I don't know of a program that automatically re-orders as the program would need to know what you mean by automatically.

I hope you understand, I'm not trying to be contrary here.

I found this: 7+ Taskbar Tweaker - RaMMicHaeL's Blog

That is the problem there is some bug and order changes, or you want to reorder them later! I already tried that and it doesn't work unfortunately. I have 1000 tabs and many windows so...

I'll go back to my statement of, any program or app will need parameters specific to your ordering scheme needs. As of now, I don't know of one.

If you do find one, please share it with us.

Eh, I don't know what you mean to your ordering scheme. These programs I linked, can reorder windows simply by dragging them by a mouse, problem is they don't remember their order: lets say after Firefox restart, of PC restart.
