Hi there,

I have a problem again on one of my servers running WS 2019 1809, it fails to install the latest KB5030214 with an error code 0x80073712.

SFC/scanow and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth passes fine.

CBS log here: CBS.zip

Component scanner log attached.

Thanks in advance for looking in to this.

I've run Fixlist as previously instructed in another thread, just in case that information would help. Fixlog.txt attached.

Hi,

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Do you have an identical server (same patch level) in your network, if so please attach a copy of the COMPONENTS hive from that system too look at.

This broken server is (from ver command) - Version 10.0.17763.4499

I have another server with the same windows, but with the latest patch installed - Version 10.0.17763.4851

The components file from the working server attached, I used max 7z compression to get under 30MB...

BTW I reboot the server after DISM passes, is that correct practice, or I should not reboot after the SFCFix&DISM?

SFCFix passed (log attached) but update failed. I did not do DISM this time as you did not request it.

For the next fix I'll need to install the French language pack and reinstall KB5030214 to provide the corrupted files and registry key. So this can take some time.

Ok, thanks, do you want me to do anything or you'll provide the files, so I'll just stand by for your next instruction?
