There is a problem with the latest version of the Mail for Windows 10 App (Version 16005.12827.20200.0) if you are using this for your Gmail account. All mail sent is ending up in your personal Spam folder rather than the Sent mail folder. This makes it look as if the email was never sent although in fact it was. You have to open the sent email in the Spam folder and click that it is Not Spam to allocate it to the Sent Mail folder, extra work and very confusing because it also adds it to the Inbox as well. This only started happening with the latest App Version 16005.12827.20200.0 which was released on May 28th.

I have reported it in the Feedback hub - please upvote! Feedback Hub - Windows Insider

Not for me it doesn't, and that's on two separate Gmail accounts being used under the Windows 10 App (Version 16005.12827.20200.0).

I suspect an "oops" in filtering.

Thanks for checking, I'm pleased it is OK for you. When did your Mail app update?

I have no idea when it updated. I am still running Windows 10 Pro, Version 1909, Build 18363.836 (64-bit) and almost never touch the Mail App except for testing purposes, like this morning.

All I can tell you is that the version number for the Mail App matched the one you mentioned in your original message.

I have done some more research into this. @britechguy you were right - it is down to the automated settings/filters. You most likely set up your accounts before this problem emerged.

The latest version of Windows Mail app has broken the settings for Gmail. The automated method for adding the account using the Google link provided by the Mail app no longer works.

The best way to work around this is to remove the Gmail account from the Mail app and then re-add it manually via the Other Account POP/IMAP route using the IMAP settings as described in Gmail help: Check Gmail through other email platforms - Gmail Help

One other thing you may have to do is change a security setting in Google to allow access to less secure apps. Google now considers the Windows Mail App a less secure app and therefore blocks it from doing some tasks. If anyone is concerned with this and while we wait for Microsoft to sort this out it might be safest to only use Gmail via a browser using mail.google.com

Hope this helps,
