I have been having problems for several months with installing the Security Roll Up packages and after a lot of searching I have found out how to use CheckSur to find missing files and have fixed several problems, but I am still missing a few files. I am not sure if this is related to the issues in installing the Security Roll Up or is another issue that may need resolving later. The Update fails with the error 80073701.

I am running Windows 7 SP 1 (x64).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Afterwards, please run SURT and attach CheckSUR.log.

It looks from the log file that the other files are related to my antivirus (Avast) - I will try the updates later and see if they install anyway.

Thanks.

I have just tried the automatic updates and they have failed. The CBS.log file is over 100Mb, but has zipped down to a reasonable size and is attached here:

Thanks for the previous help - this has now fixed the Security rollup however the update for windows 7 for x64 based systems (KB2952664) is still failing. If you would rather I opened a new thread please let me know, but I have attached the zipped fixlog.txt to this thread for now and below is the link for the new CBS.zip file.
