Police Car Runs Over Armed Suspect

Do you ever wonder why the rest of the world thinks you're nuts?

You don't run someone over, just because you think they might have committed a crime. As far as I'm concerned the police officer should be arrested and charged for that behaviour.

Using excessive force and criminal damage of police property?

What if a bystander had been behind the wall that was smashed through?

I hear you, Will.

I was amazed to see a UK police program recently where cops (PCs...?) went to a guys house to arrest him for attempted murder. I was astonished when a few PCs went to his front door, rang the bell, suspect answered; police allowed him to get dressed and brush his teeth before taking him to the station -- no hand cuffs!

Unheard of here in the States.

In USA, SWAT would have been out for an early dawn raid w/ "no-knock" warrant, breaking the front door in.

Break down the front door, shoot the dog, and if the suspect or anyone else in the house happens to be black....

It's the notion that some members of the police have that they're in a bad action movie. Give someone a gun and a badge, all of a sudden they're in starsky and hutch.

Other countries don't have the same "suicide by cop" issue that some areas of the US have.

In contrast to the above video, here's a remarkable show of courage and restraint:

It's not necessary to kill everyone just because you think they've done something wrong, or for that matter have disrespected your authority...

The above video was the quickest one I could find - I'm sure it's up elsewhere on YouTube if you're not a fan of TYT.
