Hello,

I can scan sfc /scannow and it is clean. DISM asks me for the source files. Scan and Checkhealth say things are repairable. But no luck. :-(

I have tried to export an install.wim, index 2 from my retail Windows Home Install Disk. The export work well. The problem, when I tried to GetInfo, It showed index label 1. I then downloaded Windows Media Install ISO (I do not remember the exact name). I got the same result, exported index 2, but received index 1. Strange thing, the size of the export was the same as index 2. Yes index 2 is the correct one for me.

When I was able to get past the 0x800f0906 error I received the error 0x800f081f.

My brain is a bit frazzled at the moment. My post is not the best. Please ask what you need.

Thanks,

russwr

Hi,

Need some files to work with...

Retrieve the Components Hive
  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file
  2. Please copy the COMPONENTS file to your desktop
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again
  3. Right-click on this file on your Desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your Desktop
  4. If file will is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or upload to www.sendspace.com and just provide the link for the file here

Export Registry Hive (CBS)
  • download the script ExportCBSRegistry2.cmd and save it to the Desktop
  • right-click the file ExportCBSRegistry2.cmd and select Run as administrator
  • when the script ends a new file called SoftwareCBS.zip will be located on the Desktop
  • If the zip file is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or upload to www.sendspace.com and just provide the link for the file here

Export Registry keys (SBS)
  • download the script ExportSbSRegistry.cmd and save it to the Desktop
  • right-click the file ExportSbSRegistry.cmd and select Run as administrator
  • when the script ends a new file called SoftwareSBS.zip will be located on the Desktop
  • If zip file is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here

I have all the .zip files. components.zip is too large. I have never shared a file before. I have picked Dropbox. I have the app on my system. I have the file in my Dropbox folder. I am not sure how to create the link.

As I understand, it is to be an e-mail address ? Or am I missing something ? To be honest I have not had need to create a link in a forum in thirty years ? Please ?

Hi,

Try this:

How to share with a link from the Dropbox folder on your computer

  1. Open the Dropbox folder on your computer.
  2. Right-click the file or folder you’d like to share.
  3. Click Share.
  4. If a link hasn't been created, click Create a link.
    • If a link was already created, click Copy link.
  5. The link will be copied to your clipboard. You can then paste it to an email, message, or wherever people can access it.

OK, There is a link to my components.zip in this previous post. Here is the other two .zips you were looking for. This Should be all you are looking for ?
