Windows cannot load the extensible counter DLL rdyboost. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the Windows error code.

Error event ID 1023

Anyone have a clue how to resolve this?

It always shows up with the following:

Unable to open the Server service performance object. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the status code. Error ID 2004.

The Open Procedure for service "WmiApRpl" in DLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiaprpl.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code. Error ID 1008.

The Open Procedure for service "MSDTC" in DLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\msdtcuiu.DLL" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code. Error ID 1008

The Open Procedure for service "BITS" in DLL "C:\Windows\System32\bitsperf.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code. Error ID 1008.

Any sugeastions or links are welcome. Thanks :thumbsup2:

Hi -

Are you experiencing system problems?

There are some 200 Event Viewer logs in Windows 8 and attempting to understand/rectify each recorded entry will lead to insanity. :)

My Event logs contain all levels -- "Info" to "Critical".

Sometimes **** just happens if the circumstances are just right!

I would suggest that you enjoy Windows 8 and if problems arise -- create a new thread and we'll do our best to help.

Your are right and I should be enjoying Windows 8.1. My background is a Windows desktop tech and now I am retired, so I have lots of time to examine what is in the event viewer as "Errors and some Warnings" The ones listed are Errors that were carried over from 8.0 and all I am trying to do is understand why they keep popping up after each reboot. I'm close to figuring out why they are persistent and with that understanding I maybe able to correct what maybe a problem, I have not run into yet. I think that the more I understand the better off I am. I have a very analytical mind and like a good puzzle every once in a while. Also I was thinking this forum was for people who were have problem and would like to know what they can do to resolve them and most every problem starts with something in the event viewer. I usually know each Error in the event viewer and what caused it, but the ones I listed above have me stumped. I would appreciate any input you may have, even if it is that you have run across them before and I have nothing to worry about, or a link to read more why the errors keep popping up.

Thanks

Where exactly do these errors pop up at?

Is it limited to the Event Viewer or is it a balloon of some kind?

If the latter, check out SysInternals AutoRuns from Microsoft TechNet -

Kind Regards. . .

p.s. I do know what you mean about having an analytical mind and the curiosity to know what things are/do! I always figured they must be there for a purpose - good or bad. :0

But since Vista's huge expansion of Event Viewer logs over XP, I decided it was time to stop looking into every event recorded.

The errors are in the Event Viewer, but I do have others in the Maintenance area of the Action center. I will download the Utility you linked and see what I can figure out with it.
Thanks
