Hey.

I've had this problem for a quite awhile now and tried pretty much everything i've found on other forums. Including swapping everything except CPU, installing fresh Windows multiple times etc. Sometimes the problem goes away for a month after fresh install, then it comes back.
Also, right now I can quite reliably use my computer when I'm not gaming. If I start a game it will bluescreen in under 15 minutes.

· OS - Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
· Age of system (hardware) Under 1 year
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? Reinstalled multiple times. Have tried bought OS and few images from internet.

· CPU - Intel i7 6700k
· Video Card - Asus Strix GTX 970 DirectCU II OC
· MotherBoard - Asus Maximus VIII Ranger
· Power Supply - Fractal Design 800W
· RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage 16GB 2666MHz
· SSD: Samsung Evo 850 250GB

· Laptop or Desktop? Desktop, self built

Thanks alot in advance!

Hi,

your system crashes on different states, nearly almost in preparing the graphical interface within different system-modules
or when starting Steam.

your RAM is clocked at 2400MHz within the range of your Kingstons, however Intel states a speed of
DDR4-1866/2133 or DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V

set your speed to the default in the Bios and test again.

Thanks alot for your answer!

They were set to automatic before and I was still BSODing. I set them to 1866 for now. I'll go test it right away.

So, I was able to play League of Legends for awhile, but as soon as I opened Path of Exile I bluescreened in about 5 minutes.
Heres the dump for that: 101816-13884-01.zip - Google Drive

I've installed bunch of software for peripherals in hope that they would update some drivers, didn't help obviously.
Also I ran memtest again last night. I think it did 9 passes with no errors. Video Memory Test also returned no errors.

hi,
in the wonderful world of BSOD, each minidump is a surprise  and only a snapshot

i searched for an candidate within your dumps valid for 0x50 and couldn't believe nothing is in.

your last dump revealed it,

fffff880`0bde3000 fffff880`0bdec000 IOMap64 IOMap64.sys Thu Oct 23 02:52:12 2014 (5448513C)

famous ASUS-Tools and worth for your troubles.

as Acronis is installed, take an image of your system an get rid of the above tool / driver.

for ongoing troubles we have the option of an full memory.dmp and of course verifier to go deeper, but my bet would be...

Ah thats part of ASUS GPU tweak that I just installed, not the cause of BSOD sadly. Uninstalled anyways.

Ah thats part of ASUS GPU tweak that I just installed, not the cause of BSOD sadly. Uninstalled anyways.

unfortunately, the mentioned driver is in your latest dump and therefor still active in your system.

rename or find it in the registry and disable the start, may be in msconfig too, go for it.

Hi guys. :smile9:

It seems, but I could be wrong:
  • you are using two different kits: KHX2666C13D4/4GX (2 sticks) and KHX2666C15D4/4G (2 sticks).
I didn't find them on manufacturer website...
  • you have seated the first kit in the first two slots (I call them slot 1 and slot 2, starting from cpu)
  • you have seated the second kit in the other two slots (I call them slot 3 and slot 4, starting from cpu)

Try to seat them alternatively; example:

slot 1: KHX2666C15D4/4G
slot 2: KHX2666C13D4/4GX
slot 3: KHX2666C15D4/4G
slot 4: KHX2666C13D4/4GX

omg & thx @xilolee :thumbsup2:

completely overseen, mixed types and the difference is a much slower Speed for the "4GX" Types: PC4-17000, 1.2V, CAS Supported: 9 11 12 13 14 15 16
while the "4G" runs at PC4-21300, 1.2V, CAS Supported: 9 11 12 13 14 15 16

thats the reason of the great hickup, they don't match in any way.

will wait with the latest dump which blames the nVidia, but with those mixed RAM

Oh wow, I did not know that. Should I set them to 1700MHz or what? I've got few BSOD's with integrated graphics, but they are much more uncommon. Also the cause is always Alt+Tabing out of game.

Heres dumps for those: 101916-5803-03.zip - Google Drive

Also I mixmatched RAM's now, I'll update results soon.

Also big thanks for your continued support on this! :)

Hoi,

choose one pair of RAM, "4G" runs at PC4-21300 as example

makes 8Gb, test it for one day or two with the speed within the specs intel provides for your CPU, see what happens.

Hello again. Sadly I still haven't been able to pinpoint and fix the problem. Running only 1 pair of RAM doesn't help. I've tried all slots too.
It seems to have a link with GPU tho, since its pretty much a problem only with Nvidia GPU.
Could it be a link with GPU and CPU? I tested my GPU on friends computer and it was fine, no problem at all.

Heres few minidumps more if they show anything: 102216-5584-01.zip - Google Drive

Hi,

had a look into 102216-5584-01.dmp

wrong population of your RAMs according to Asus List:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb...0411.pdf?_ga=1.168991847.733987062.1477244359

and your kingstons are not listed, might be the cause of your troubles.

Within seconds after starting PathOfExileSte (Steam)
the system goes down in preparing video-buffer in RAM as before.

Good!
