Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Upload your DRIVERS Hive

  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config and locate the DRIVERS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named DRIVERS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Thanks! and when I go to send to zipped folder from the desktop it says file not found or no read permission.

Yeah i tried it once and then rebooted and tried it again and gave me same result

This didn't work either, could you please provide a copy of the DRIVERS when the the system is booted in safe mode?

Restart your computer in safe mode
  • Press the Windows icon on the keyboard together with the letter I, to get into the Settings.
  • Choose Update and Security.
  • From the menu at the left, choose Recovery.
  • Under the title Advanced startup at the right, choose Restart now.
  • From the window that will appear choose Troubleshoot and then Advanced options.
  • Choose Startup Settings and then Restart.
  • Press number 5, for choosing Safe mode with networking.
  • You will know that you are in Safe mode, if the background is black and Safe mode is written at the four corners of the screen.

Hi,

This file is also empty, do you have recent backups of this system?

This is the driver folder, I need a copy of the DRIVERS hive from this directory C:\Windows\System32\Config\DRIVERS (this is a file without extension).

... and do you have recent backups of this system?

sadly I don't have backups. I noticed a older post about their driver hive being corrupt and think I may be the same case. The driver is only 8kb

I’ve tried to do that with the iso file but it told me it couldn’t mount the file
