Optional Updates Fail with 80072F78 however Important Updates are successful.
But anything in the optional updates fail.
My goal is to eventually update to Windows 10.

I have tried a great many things like

• Properly Syncing Computer Clock
• sfc /scannow in an Admin CMD
• dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
• SFCFix
• Windows Repair All-in-One in Safemode

File attachments in this forum are not working for me using FF.

My name is Aura and I'll be assisting you with your issue. You don't need to install your Windows Updates before upgrading to Windows 10. Did you try upgrading to it before, or not?

Aura, sorry for my delayed reply.

I tried the optional Windows 10 Update and it too failed with the Error Code 80072F78. So I started to try to fix the optional updates first.
Since I tried most if not everything I found here I tried the Media Creation Tool. That got stuck at 77%. LOL
I finally got Windows 10 installed because I found a blog somewhere that said use the Windows 10 Tech Bench Upgrade Program method. I think you have mentioned it yourself before where you download the ISO, mount and launch the setup.

That was a strange problem I was having. But everything seems good now.
