I am hoping to learn and contribute before I go off of the deep end. Click to expand... I hear you. I got into IS/IT support starting way back in the early 1970s. It didn't take long to realize that IT is many industries within industries. I was constantly learning new stuff and going back to school to stay current and certified. And the more I learned, the more I realized there was (and still is) yet to learn. It is impossible and therefore can be overwhelming if you try to learn it all. But don't give up. Pick a couple of areas of expertise to focus on. That's the beauty of Sysnative. If an issue pops up in an area where your skills and experience are limited, odds are someone else here has expertise in that area. And if they don't chances are they know someone who does. I come to forums to help others when I can because that (selfishly) gives me a warm fuzzy. But the major bonus is I get to rub shoulders with and learn something new from experts from all over IT. That helps to keep "those little grey cells" kicking. So welcome to Sysnative! A place to learn and share what you have learned.
