Hi mates,

I have a problem in my WIN10. Since i wanted to try the new offices, i have uninstalled the 2013 erion and get the new one for trial.
The instalation passed w no problems, however the word is not working. When it opens, the word starts, but falls immediately w the message "the program has stopped". All the other application as outlook etc.. are fine.
I assumed the problem is in the file i had downloaded. So i uninstalled the new one, and got back to the prewious, but it's still the same.
I tryed to get rid of all files, but it didnt help so far.
When I go to settings - apps and functions, in the middle of the app list, there is bunch of OffScrub_O15msi_office15 ..... and i cant uninstall them. I guess thats the issue.

Can someone help me?

Thx a lot

Luke

Hi Pungel

I believe that those odd files in your "apps & features" list are leftovers from an incomplete uninstall of Office 2013 (Office 2013 has a lot of files using its old code-name "Office15").

Luckily, Microsoft provides a Fix It that can clean up the mess for you. After things are cleaned up, you should be able to install either the new Office 2016 or Office 365, or re-install your Office 2013 again.

Here's the website that has the Microsoft Office Cleanup app:
Uninstall Office 213, Office 216, or Office 365 from a PC - Microsoft Office

On that page, scroll down to the section Completely uninstall and clean up Office with the easy fix tool
Look for the Download button ... to download and run the program. Note: Microsoft recommends using either its Edge browser or IE for downloading the tool.

Hope this provides you with a fully functioning Office to enjoy :)

Pungel - Nice work on getting things cleaned up. And thank you very much for posting the link to the manual removal method that worked for you - that will help anyone else who meets up with the same trouble. Much appreciated! [I bookmarked that manual method in my "Support links" folder :) ]
