I ran this command
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

and I got a **** TON of errors
I'm sorry if it copied twice.
I was only trying to get my calculator to work again ._. after doing a complete reinstall of windows 10 I cant use calculator, a lot of icons disappear everywhere on my start menue, sometimes the writing is gone, things just like to disappear.... ive tried many many things and I'm about to say **** it and go back to windows 7...

as I'm writing all this almost everything went black, I had to scroll up/down and it sorth of fixes it,
this problem started even after doing a kill disk, and fresh install from a freshly made cd of windows 10 from downloading right on microsofts website... I'm at total loss of ideas...

PS C:\Windows\system32>

Hi Nemesis

Sorry to hear that your system is having so much trouble. Also sorry that this reply is so late ... (holidays and all...)

Tell you what, see if you can run a few diagnostics: I'm guessing that your system is a home-build? If so, it probably doesn't have built-in diagnostics (like some of the store-bought PCs do, especially Dell). So you'll want to try MemTest86+ to test the memory, and the hard drive diagnostics from the drive manufacturer's website...

If you can, also download and run the SysNative information gathering app - and post the results here. The data will sometimes have a good clue for what's going on to make your computer misbehave. The PerfMon test is worthwhile, too, if you can give it a go. Here's the link with instructions --- https://www.sysnative.com/forums/bs...windows-10-8-1-8-7-vista-post303.html#post303

i did 1. Download the Sysnative BSOD Dump + System File Collection App - save to Documents folder -
http://www.sysnative.com/apps/SysnativeBSODCollectionApp.exe
its not ending? it keeps adding extra lines at the end that reads
Waiting for system information to complete. over and over and over...?
now for some reason my 3rd hard drive (wich is empty and currently unused, just there waiting sleeping) is doing a tic sound every 5 seconds after runing
· Run - Driver Verifier - Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 & Vista
(after restarting the computer like it said to)

thats perfmon bellow
View attachment perfmon.rar

a completly random thing too... when im on Opera browser and i go to facebook, Opera crashes and starts back up, does that twice and then when it starts up again, it doesnt have facebook page open anymore to prevent any more crash, ONLY facebook, and ONLY on opera browser.... i dont know if that have anything to do with any of this... it started 2 weeks ago, so now i use microsoft edge... (its slugish when i scroll up/down things disapear or go black and i have to scroll up/down more to make it all come back, sometimes scroll the mouse over)

Hi again

Thanks for sending the files along. You can turn off Driver Verifier - I usually remember to save that one to run only if it is needed.

I'll start looking at the files likely later tonight or in the morning (busy with a few repairs, as usual lately...)

Did you have a chance to run any hardware diagnostics?

P.S. .... I'm guessing that you are using the new user account (or "user profile") you created when the old one was corrupted? And not using the hidden built-in Administrator account in Windows 10?

umm... how do i turn off the driver verifier?
anyway, i have to go buy cd's i ran out, im gona get some tomorow, (im broke and tonight is payday so...)
thankyou for your time :D

k well now, my 3rd hard drive wont work, computer reads it as a 320gb (asus dos thing) in My Computer, it reads as 0, on the label it says 500gb... its empty, havnt been using it anyway but still... i kinda wanted to start using that soon...
windows now takes longer to load up, after pressing Enter on the login in (password) it used to be 1 second and everything was loaded up (SSD hard drive) now it takes about 10-30 seconds,
the user account that i use, supposed to be the primary that was created as i reinstalled windows, i don't see any other accounts in account management,
the hard drive test thing went passed on main drive (ssd) and secondary (240gb) and the 3rd drive kept on *ending* early by adding a blue screen with yellow writing on top of the seagate program just like if it was on dos, could'nt get back to the program unless restarted computer, and i just noticed now that my 500gb hard drive is now operational...? im totally confused here... my list in start menu is still somewhat invisible at times, icons disappearing here and there, or not even showing in the first place, my microsoft app store wont open (never did) my calculator app insta crash, always did) (thats ever since any windows 10 upgrade/reinstals with fresh copies)
side note, Opera browser still crashes while on facebook, ONLY when on facebook and ONLY with Opera... (for some reason computer crash when i use chrome so thats out of the question)
im about to loose it >_< i dont know anymore, ive done everything i know to do and then some... i really hope you have an idea that i havnt come across yet...
and again thank you for your time...

Hi again Nemesis

I've been looking at your files ...

I think you are going to be best served by starting over again. The amount of errors produced by your system might just qualify as some kind of record. The Windows Update failures alone are just staggering. Windows Update has been failing and flailing in the background of your system daily since last November.

Your third hard drive, the Seagate, may have failed. If this is a home-built machine, then you probably know how to safely open it up & check your cables and connections. If you have experience with store-bought computers as well, take all the usual precautions & have a look inside the case. Once you are confident that the cables look OK, you can boot the computer with a Seagate Sea Tools CD, and test the drive with that. If Sea Tools can't run long enough to test the drive - try removing the Seagate drive, attaching it externally to another known-good/clean working computer, and test it from there.

How old is the Samsung 250 GB drive? They came out in 2006. (I'm hoping yours might be a bit newer than that...) What diagnostics tool did you use to test it? There are downloadable diagnostics available on the manufacturers support website (and a version recent enough to work on your model is included on the free "UBCD" disk [ Ultimate Boot CD - Overview ] The UBCD is open-source, and should always be free. The UBCD also contains MemTest86+, a decent memory testing program. All the instructions on how to download and make the CD are on the UBCD website.

Until you know the health of the hardware, I don't think you'll have much luck trying to fix the system as it is now. If everything eventually passes some extensive diagnostic testing, I recommend that you completely erase and reformat the system drive, update the Bios of the motherboard (if available ... your current version is from 2012), download the latest .iso of Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool, and use that to clean install. Or - if you want to return to Windows 7, clean install it using either a Windows 7 DVD that you purchased, or using a Windows 7 DVD that matches your old system's type (Home, Pro, etc.) exactly = enter your original Windows 7 product key during the installation.

If you decide on Windows 10, definitely make a new DVD. It will save a fair amount of time (because it will include the latest build ... less updating to do) ... and it should be more stable than the earlier builds (you had build 10240 on your last DVD). If you feel extra adventurous, you could use a DVD from TechBench, they are sometimes even more recent.

Since the Kingston drive is likely reasonable recent and speedy, a new SATA III one terabyte drive should only cost about $50, tops. Then you'd only need to use the two newest drives (the Kingston and whatever new drive you get). You could send the oldies off into retirement. (Like me, soon enough! ....)

Let us know if you have questions.

3rd hard drive is working okay now, no clue whats going on, i guess ill make a big back up again and start all over with yet another fresh copy of windows.... in the next few days it will be done, and ill come back here and let you know how it went, thank you for your time.

Definitely make sure that all the drives pass diagnostics before you try the clean install. Test the memory too, of course. With the amount of trouble you have been experiencing, either your original image wasn't right, or a hardware issue was present, or an incompatibility issue clogged up the works (some older hardware can have drivers that just don't get updated for the latest operating systems) ....

Good luck, hope it works out. We'll stay tuned.

welp, i just finished reinstalling windows 10 with a freshly downloaded os from the microsoft site, and so far, its runing like it was just manufactured.... i guess the other download i had was corrupted... i dont know... im in the process of installing everything back, and so far, my Opera browser is working fine but the OS is refusing to let me change my default browser from edge to opera, i click on the *change default browser* , drop down list apear as normal, and when i click on Opera, nothing happens and it stays as edge... but i guess ill get to that another time after more has been done, im having a bit of a hard time to use my cd/dvd's to instal a few things, like my motherboards stuff
CD number 1
SABERTOOTH 990FX motherboard m1826 amd 990fx/sb950 chipset support dvd rev 579.03 , it says the OS is not supported
and the set point for logitech mouse/keyboard, i double clicked on the *disk drive in my pc* and ive been waiting for 10 minutes,
my kaspersky was the first thing i got on, all updated and fine, windows is all updated and seems okay, all my icons are showing, nothing funny going on
so far so good i guess besides the 2 things i cant install, ill just go on the websites directly and download/install from there, ill come back in a few days after everything is done and ran to give words if things still runs smoothly or not.

thank you for your time again :)

Hi again

Glad that things are going better this time.

One suggestion: don't use drivers from old driver disks from years ago -- those drivers will cause all sorts of trouble to pop up again. Windows 10 likely has reasonably decent generic drivers for the basic components of your motherboard. I recommend not using Asus AI, especially not an older version. Too many issues have been linked to that software (when it works best - it is generally for the version of Windows current at the time it was created).

To make Opera you default browser: try
1) Click on the Windows 10 Start Menu icon
2) Select Settings
3) Select System
4) Select Default Apps
5) On the right-hand side, click on the current default browser (probably Edge)
6) A list of browsers installed on your computer should appear, click on Opera

That should do it. Hope things keep looking good!

yeah, i know how to get to that window to change the default app, but when i click on the opera icon to switch for that one as primary, Nothing happens...

You are certainly in the right place (in Settings), so it is supposed to work. I imagine you were logged in already with administrative privileges, but if not, try that. If it still doesn't "stick" ... have a look in Event Viewer and see if an error message coincides with the same time as your attempt to set Opera to the default.

i ran sfc /scannow cuz i seen something about that being a possible cause, no idea if yes or no but it turned out theirs corrupted stuff...?

aparently windows ressource protection found corrupt files but was not able to fix some of them

i would like to be able to switch to opera as my default browser... i hate microsoft edge... opera is just more than perfect for everything i do... but like i said before, when i click on the default list option, the drop down list shows up, and i click on opera and nothing happens... it doesnt change it....

I have to admit I'm surprised that you have corrupted files just days after a clean install. I have to suspect that one of the drives isn't healthy. Something isn't right. The third drive was having trouble last time ... Did you have a chance to test the system memory yet?

There is also an issue with some nVidia drivers causing a corruption of a driver: opencl.dll. The nVidia driver overwrites the file with a problematic version. Here is a link to the thread here at SysNative concerning that particular problem, and for which an app called SFXfix was designed

It might be that the nVidia drivers are the source of some of your issues, but try another round of diagnostics to ensure that the hardware is OK, too.

i did the memtest, it came out clean for both my 4gb slots of ram
ill try another round of hard drive diag, and ill do that sfxfix first
thx.... yay me....
