[SOLVED] Occasional keyboard lag

On my laptop, I experience an occasional keyboard lag issue. This is only about once in 5-10 mins. When it happens, it stops registering my inputs for a portion of a sec, then applies them during the following time. Some times it is worst (more frequent or persistent) than other times.

This happens either using the native keyboard of the laptop, or external USB keyboard. And happens regardless of the use of AutoHotKey script.

I cannot pinpoint when it exactly started, but it was not present in my earlier times of Win11, neither in Win10 times.

Up to now, I tried writing in the command line "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth". It did not solve the problem.

How can I solve the problem?

This can be a symptom of many things.

Open Task Manger and under the startup tab, disable as many things as you can. Reboot. If you need the things you disabled, simply reverse your actions.

Hey thanks, I disabled everything there, and rebooted, but it did not work. The problem persists. Would you suggest any other method?
 
Since it's at intervals, it seems something might be polling. Like calling out to the internet to check for updates, some kind of background processes accessing the HDD.

Let's get some more info about your system if you don't mind, please follow these instructions.
  • Download Speccy x64 portable 1.32.740 (click)
    If you need the 32bit version: Speccy x86 (NON-portable)
  • Unzip/decompress it and put it on your desktop.
  • When the program opens, it will retrieve some information regarding your system.
  • Once it's done, select the File menu and choose Publish snapshot. Answer Yes to the confirmation message.
  • On the next screen that comes up, choose the Copy to Clipboard button and paste this link in your next reply.
Also, while you're at it, in an elevated (Admin) command prompt, run sfc/scannow.

When I run this program, it gave an error saying that sth is not loading/installing, searching online I disabled MEMORY INTEGRITY from CORE ISOLATION in settings, rebooted, which solved this error. Then, when I choose Publish snapshot, it says "HTTP redirect request must be confirmed by the user". This error is issued both when running Speccy as administrator or not. I cannot continue from there on. ?

Some of the tests seem daunting or even overwhelming, and that's ok, I feel overwhelmed all the time Haha.

Under #7

I ran Malwarebytes and it has found somethings first, then I ran the second times with a full scan which resulted in no threats, but the keyboard lag issue continues.

For SeaTools, I tried the Windows GUI version. It passed the self test. My storage is an SSD, it is Sky Hynix HFM001TD3JX013N. Do I need to run SeaTools for DOS stuff?

As I was following the test ram stuff, I setup the flash drive, but I could not have it run. I can select the boot option to boot from the usb drive but it fails. As prompted in the test ram post, I disabled Fast boot, which did not do the trick. Then, again as stated there, I wanted to enable CSM legacy mode but could not locate this in the boot settings, no where. So this is stuck there.

As to the driver verifier, that was the only thing that I had enabled prior to reading your latest post. Now I disabled it with verifier /querysettings.

sfc/scannow finished with 'Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations'.

I notice you have ArmouryCrate installed. It has been known to cause issues on various PC's. Please download Revo Uninstaller Free and uninstall ArmouryCrate and let me know if that helps.

It looks like simply updating the Armory Crate software of Asus solved the problem. I appreciate your time and helps. I do not need to use for this the Revo uninstaller I guess.
