There have been reports of people having issues with their 900 and 1000 series nVidia GPU's when using modern DP cables.
nVidia has released a FW update to address the issue. The update can be downloaded here: NVIDIA Graphics Firmware Update Tool for DisplayPort 1.3 and 1.4
The issues described can range from the OS failing to load, frozen or slow boot sequences to blank screens.
