So I ended up at some point maybe 2-3 weeks ago getting a virus on my pc. Seems it's disabled all the security and I can't enable any of it.
It was blocking me from viewing any antivirus websites but I found a work around to get to them and I ran several which seems to have cleaned up some items.
But it has seemed to have corrupted much of the system.
Windows update fails everytime.
Microsoft store failed when ever I tried to install apps. Kept saying downloading with no progress and eventually errored out.
Mail was working up until yesterday when any time I tried to click on links it would let me continue through the link.
Googling the issue suggested doing a reset on Mail, so I tried it and it seems to have deleted it. I'm guessing it was trying to reinstall/repair from the store but with no access it failed.
Looking further in I tried using powershell to install some of these things but I get an error stating the firewall is disabled and to enable it.
I tired but it kept failing.
And now tonight, clicking on Privacy Security>Windows Security and then any of the items on the next page, I get a popup message "You'll need a new app to open this windowsdefender link"
Been banging my head trying to resolve these issues without doing a full wipe and came across this website when searching issue on Google so I thought I would reach out and see if anyone can walk me through this mine field.
