Hi fellows! Recently i've found in my computer there were some updates errors checking Windows Update history. The issue is always associated to SECURITY & QUALITY ROLLUP for .NET Framework updates & it started around Nov. 2018 when KB4457918 failed -643 code error-. There was the same 643 error in a row with updates KB4467240 (Nov 2018), KB4481480 (Jan 2019), KB4487256 (Mar 2019), KB4487078 (Mar, Apr, May 2019) & finally KB4499406 -also May-. I´ve tried all Microsoft "helping hand" procedures included in Windows Update page to solve that problem without any success. It is important to note that all the rest of updates (Security Monthly Quality Rollups, Malicious software Removal tools & Win 7 updates) were installed correctly without any trouble. So, even though my computer is running ok till today, Im áffraid & very worried about it, knowing there is a risky security failure in my system. OS running is Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 & I followed your instructions to post my thread, so i`m dropping here the CBS folder link -Google Drive- CBS.rar
Hoping data from my pc´s stuff -here included- could serve to help to work out that issue (help I humbly ask) & waiting for news from U...
Regards & thanks in advance.

Hello Forum Members: I really don't know what is happening: i've posted a real trouble i've got on my computer in May 22 asking for help & I wonder why till today May 29 i have no any answer. Maybe did I make a mistake when posting? I´ve also seen that others –almost similar- published issues (babul kr Kundu/Fri &:37 PM, Alex Reed/May 22 & lazealiviu/May 21) have been unattended even though there’s a lot of “views”, but no replays with the subject. Please believe that I´m not claiming for any answer –far from it- but i´m afraid I had been misunderstood. I am only searching for –humbly, repeat- a solution for my pc´s trouble & i´m willing to help & contribute to this forum in any way, that’s all. Greetings from Gran Canaria!

Hola SleepyDude:
I´m very glad to get your mail. I know there´s a lot of requests & i´ve gotta be patient. So please accept my apologies for being so desperate, right?
Well, taking to the point there is what´s inside my Registry:

47573

so i guess last successful .net framework version was 4.0. After that, updates from KB4345590 (Aug 16 2018) till today all were failed with
643 error:

47575
& that´s all i have. So let´s follow your instructions & if there´s any other data i may give to you, let me know it. I´m going to download & run the tool & after that i will post results -keep in touch-...Regards & thanks in advance...

I have the log files, so please tell just what you want me to do...next step?
Regards...;)

Hi,

Can you collect the logs from the Temp folder? zip them and attach the zip file to your post.

Hola SD, i,ve been for 2 days out of town so i was unable to answer quickly... here i am:
I ran the windows update -it failed- & here it is what i collected about:

47704
47705
I hope all this data helps to find out what is happening, thanks SD....

Hi,

Please repeat the steps from my post #10 and provide the c:\windows\logs\cbs\CBS.log after the installation fail because the contents of this log changes...

The other two files may eventually include some useful information but I need the actual files attached to your post not pictures.

Hi,

Did you install the update KB4495588 manually before collecting the CBS.log? I see no reference on the log to this update!

Hi SD, i haven´t installed any update manually. I also made a search for KB4495588 in Updates History, & there´s no reference...I don´t understand what's going on...Please, did you see something about that in logs files? because definitely that update hasn´t been installed in the system (neither a failure installation) what we can do?...something whirl...I´m all ears...

Hi,

Sorry if I have not been very clear!

By manual install I mean download the update using the link I provide, save the file for example into the Desktop, double click the downloaded file to install the update, instead of relying on Windows Update.

Please execute the following:

Download and install KB4495588 http://download.windowsupdate.com/c..._057aa7f4c87dcd7fbb4225e170a901a622b72ad7.exe

After the update fails to install collect the CBS.log by doing the following:

Locate the log c:\Windows\logs\cbs\CBS.log copy the file to the Desktop, Zip it and attach to your post.

Note: If the file is too big to attach please upload it to a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here.

Hello SD,
the fault is mine ´cos i was thinking your question was about any other update -excuse me- I exactly did what you told me about the download & installation of KB4495588: I put it on Desktop using your link, ran it & i got what i´ve sent before in the post. But the fact is there´s no any reference in Windows Update about it, no failed installation, no traces at all. However, Installation Log i posted in #11 shows update failed with error code (0x80070643) "error irrecuperable durante la instalacion". Anyway I´m gonna do KB4495588 again, & let´s see what´s inside CBS log, right? i´ll send it in minutes...
Thanks again for your patience...:-)

Hi SD: i´ve got another clue... I´ve seen installed programs through CCleaner Tools-Uninstall & here is what i´ve got: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 (the so-called KB 4495588) it´s already installed!!!

47741
Anyway, I did again KB4495588 & I´ve attached CBS file, ok?....i still don't see the light ...regards SD !
