Hi folks !

I really need help to get back my Administrator account.
I thought, at first, being infected with malware or bad adware and I have (had?) some of these.

I asked help in Security Arena but the solution ain't solved, despite the help of Corrine. And I thank her being involved to help me. But the problem is still here and I think you can help me with your knowledges.

Here is the link of the thread in Security Arena : Win10 : administrator's account impossible to connect

Can you help me, please ? :banghead:

Hi GensoD. :)

Try to reset your administrator password from the hidden administrator account.
From an elevated command prompt run these commands:
net user administrator /active yes
net user administrator *
I get:
C:\>net user administrator /active yes
The command completed successfully.

C:\>net user administrator *
Type a password for the user:
Retype the password to confirm:
The command completed successfully.
You'll find the help of the command writes /active:, with the colons, but we'll get an error.
If you press enter when it asks you the password, the password will be "blank" (i.e., nothing to insert in the password entry).
Then sign out from your current account, sign in to the administrator account and try to reset the password of your other account with administrator powers.

If this won't work, you can try to create a new profile named like you prefer, log into the new account, then import data from the account you are trying to recover to the new one from Control Panel\System and Security\System, click advanced system settings, click (user profiles) settings, select the "lost" account, click copy to, select your new account (and start the copy clicking ok/copy/save/whatever button appears to confirm the task).

Obviously, I suggest you to make a system backup, with windows or your preferred tool, before you try all the procedures.
Examples of other tools that can do the backup job: aomei backupper standard version (free) and paragon backup and recovery 16, this last is free until 30th November 2016.

Hi Xilolee,

I'm aware about these steps to creat new account, but I'm actually in an local account without administrator access (whatever I want to do; such as installing softwares (which require admin access), run command prompt, etc.).

Even installing windows tools is impossible because my administrator's account doesn't recognize me (even my finger print...)

EDIT: When I do the step in command prompt, I have the "error system 5". (guessing it's the administrator problem)

Hi !

I resolved the issue thanks to a microsoft's tool named "DaRT" (Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset).

I downloaded the *.iso file of it (you can choose between x64 or x86 version, depends of your OS of course), and, thanks to DaemonTool, I could mount the file and then put it (copy and past all the files) in an USB key.

After that, I rebooted Windows(10) by the USB key ; to make sure you reboot on USB device, don't forget to go in the Boot Menu (just hit F12 or ESC key when your system is rebooting, depends of your PC brand) and change the Boot sequence.

And follow the steps. :thumbsup2:

Here is a link of the *.iso file of DaRT and all the steps you have to do. It's a french web site. (I guess you can find an equivalent tuto in english)

Thanks for the help ! :grin1:
