Hi, I registered here to try and resolve my sfc issue; tried some sfcfix and retrieved the cbs details file to show the errors;
attached are the sfc details file -recent scan being @12:30; and sfcfix search for those files;
I should add that I already tried the addreg method mentioned somewhere in a thread here to try to resolve a cannot decompress error- which worked in a previous case but not now(msdtc from the registry fix thread "avast and sfc issues..."
Thanks in advance for any help ;(dism online completes with success)

Hello Erik and welcome to the forum.

Before we can get started on repairing this issue we require some more information.

SFC /SCANNOW
  1. Right click on the
    aa922834-ed43-40f1-8830-d5507badb56c_39.jpg
    button
  2. Click on Command prompt (Admin) => Press Yes on the prompt
  3. Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command SFC /SCANNOW
  4. Please wait for this to Finish before continuing with rest of the steps.
Convert CBS.log to CBS.txt
  1. Right click on the
    aa922834-ed43-40f1-8830-d5507badb56c_39.jpg
    button
  2. Click on Run => Inside the run box copy and paste the following command:
    Code:
    cmd /c copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  3. Press Enter
  4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please upload CBS.txt to this thread
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive

Download and Run SFCFix

Please download and run SFCFix from >Here<

It will take about 15 minutes to process. Once the scan has completed a notepad file will launch with the results. Please copy and paste the entire contents of the results and post them back into this thread. Please put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex and thanks for quick response; In the meantime I managed to fix the issue by following similar posts and adjusting the name of the folder in the sfcfix.zip with my specific msdtc.log location hence replacing them; after which I fixed the registry keys same way with copy paste my specific key; ran sfc; dism; all clean; no issues. So it is resolved and thank you very much for the forum. I do have another issue following the latest updates to OS whereby neither creative control panel sound blaster z nor razer synapse would load or work; any version;
should I create another thread for that?

Ah that's good news, did you find some of my other thread's where we repaired this? This was a rather tricky issue which we didn't have a clue how to solve for a while.

I do have another issue following the latest updates to OS whereby neither creative control panel sound blaster z nor razer synapse would load or work; any version;
should I create another thread for that?

Is SFC still reporting any more issue?

Indeed I have found similar threads with slightly different errors such as unable to decompress or other location of msdtc.log, but I adjusted the fixes to my system;
Also no, no errors, sfc was squicky clean as well as dism; the utilities dont load due to some change brought about by the updates or net framework 4.0 which they are based on.
When I run SFC /VERIFYONLY the only entries found relate to windows mail in program files x86 which I always have it patched to enable it working(legacy windows vista windows mail); it is for my useage and I hardly think it is related to anything else or brakes anything
