I've used SFCFix.exe with SFCFixScript.txt as described at https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/5121-cbs-log-problem.html#post38774
and below is the output. I'll appreciate if someone can look at it and suggest a fix. Thank you.

Back story: Kept getting System service Exception on Windows 8.1 when turning it on or restarting and could out it had to do with prncacla.inf. Did a non-destructive reinstallation of Windows 8.1 and the problem (System Service Exception) seems to have gone, only to come back. Now the problem is with MSDTC.LOG. The computer is probably due for a full format and Windows installation or clean image restore (don't have very recent image), but I don't have the luxury of time at work so I'm trying to fix it for the time being while I get another computer.

Hello and thank you again.

I followed the steps exactly and got results that were positive match too.

Did a restart thinking the problem was solved, but the computer kept restarting with System Service Exception and the restores didn't work this time. (Previously it would encounter System Service Exception but a system restore would fix it) After about perhaps 10+ automatic restarts with System Service Exception and no end in sight, I restored an old but clean image onto the first disk (there's two in this laptop). I didn't lose any work, just some custom settings and had to do installations of programs that are not in the image.

There appears to be no problems with the computer now, so I'll probably reimage it now.

Just a heads up to anyone who reads this: it's a good idea to backup your data, custom settings, and make regular images of the OS drive.
