[SOLVED] Movie Sites Possible Malware

Suddenly free movie sites(https://web.ffmovies.sc/fmovies/)(https://web.movies7.sc/) have gone crazy. They go immediately to ads. I run Google Chrome with UBlock and Malwarebytes. Both warn of possible site issues. I have been running them since a problem in March. There is also a suggestion to download an extension to convert text to vocal??? There are also other recommendations to download and install. That will NOT happen.
Has anyone else run into these problems and I hope found a solution or a better site.

I run Chrome and Ublock Origin. I tried that link above and even clicked on a movie that was very pixelated, I did not get any ads, popups, or otherwise.

The only thing I noticed was a watermark on the movie.

I just tried the first site again. 2 connections to ad sites. A connection to download the movie.

I added web.movies7.sc to Allow List in Malwarebytes. UBlock Origin is another question. There are so many other sites that
need to be turned off it seems when connecting to web.movies7.sc. Malwarbytes lists multiple sites it is concerned with. UBlock
has the same concern. I am trying to look for information on what the color codes on the left in UBlock mean. It does no good to
disable UBlock for the site as all the other sites related to it fail. This is a real mess when all I want to do is see a movie or TV show.

I just found that Trusted Sites contains web.movies7.sc in UBlock Origin

I ran Malwarbytes and it had me quarantine AdWare. This is good. I am sure that was a main culprit in all the ads I
was seeing. I don't know where it came from and that is an issue if it was/is the cause of my Movies problem.

I tried to watch Wakanda Forever and it ended up being blocked by an extension. I couldn't find what it was referring to.
I run Google Chrome.

FMovies | Free Movies | Watch Movies Online | FMovies
brings up the ads as well other junk. I am going to run Malwarebytes to see if there is
junk that needs to be deleted again. Malwarebytes found nothing more. I am going to run Microsoft Security. I don't expect anything
but more confusion as to what hangs up Movies. I also have tried each of the servers with no luck.

The issue is that it didn't happen since March. I run uBlock Origin, which I can't find documentation to figure out what the color codes and
+ signs on the first page mean). I looked into all the block lists and found nothing for vw1.ffmovies.sc which is the latest to popup ADS
when home page is selected. It automatically says it is downloading something. I will run Malwarebytes again to be sure my system is
clean. Are there other places I should go to be sure everything is cleaned out?
I run Windows 7 Professional 64bit and Google Chrome with( uBlock Origin and Malwarebytes Browser Guard).

I would be happy to talk to a security expert. I would hope they can identify the problem and a solution.
Thanks for your support.

I run Windows 7 Professional 64bit and Google Chrome with( uBlock Origin and Malwarebytes Browser Guard).
I ran Malwarebytes and then Macrium Reflect last night.
I ran sfc /scannow with "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations"
Still can't identify WHY I get the ads when I go to the home page from "fmovies.to/home"
I have tried other url's pointing to the same starting page with the same issue or a " blocked by an extension" message.
I cannot find a way to block these problems in Google or Firefox.

Hi, ChuckR.

Your real problem here is that Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, and hasn't been since 14th January 2020, so any "exploits" for that operating system are no longer being patched. This leaves your machine vulnerable to attack, regardless of any security program you run. If you want to remain secure, you must upgrade your computer to Windows 10 or 11 (if it is supported).

Here, we can clean your system. However, I can't ensure you will be safe or out of risk.

I have used the site for years since support was dropped. It acts as if it is now going to a location that is no longer blocked.

You are free to post the requested logs, as xRobwx71 suggested, and we can check your computer. However, nothing guarantees that you will be secure in the near future, since without security updates anything can happen. And the fact you didn't have issues so far, actually says nothing.

Picture it like this:
There are holes in all software. At first these holes are invisible to the public. As time moves forward, the holes get discovered by good people and bad people.

The developers support the software for a certain amount of time by releasing patches for these holes. Once the holes are patched, you are safe until other holes are discovered.

Once a software falls out of support, holes are discovered but no longer patched, then the bad actors find new ways of getting into these holes which becomes increasingly possible as time goes by.

I have FRST64.exe from 2019. Is this useable? Are the results what you are looking for?

Something important to remember is all those free movie streaming websites are providing illegal copies of those movies and are not official websites. All content on those sites is pirated.

Due to the nature of those sites, many reputable advertising companies will not run their adverts on them since they don't want to be associated with movie piracy. This means the adverts run on the site are likely to be from smaller companies that have less regulation, making it more likely the adverts will contain malware.

I suspect what might have happened here is the site switched to a new advertising provider that is serving different ads. If malwarebytes is giving warnings browsing to the site, perhaps the earnings shouldn't just be ignored or worked around.
