hi
am facing problems with windows update like this error pops up code 800703F1 error which does not let me update also I think this was the same unexpected error which did not let me upgrade to windows 8.1.
please help....asap
there is no information in cbs or dism folders as they are empty if there is other ways do let me know.

Please run the SURT again and post a new CheckSur.log.

Thanks, the COMPONENTS hive is very corrupt by the looks of things.

Can you please go the following location C:\Windows\System32\config and look for the following files:
-COMPONENTS
-Any other files that start with the word COMPONENTS
-Or any files that have a similar name to COMPONENTS (it could be spelt different, have a number, a symbol etc)
If you find any please create a folder on your desktop and copy and paste all these files into this folder.
Next can you please zip this folder and upload them for me to analyze? The file may be too big to attach to this post, please use either Dropbox or One Drive.

Right click on the

button
Click on Command prompt (Admin) => Press Yes on the prompt
Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command
dir %systemroot%\System32\config >1&&notepad 1
[*]Please post the contents of the notepad file back into this thread

This is worse that I thought, I can not get the HIVE to load at all -.-

Do you have any restore points/registry backups in early Dec to late Nov?

I don't have restore at such late dates.
do you have any other way or suggestion to fix this problem.
like the option in pc settings "remove everything and reinstall windows" do or perhaps "advanced startup" any good .

I further browsed for the problem found this program RegCure Pro which scanned my registry I think it fixed the code 800703F1 error but a new error is there when tried to rum windows update.
those this helps in anyway.
can this be fixed.

What is the error code?

Can you open up command prompt as an administrator and run the following command:
reg load HKLM\COMPONENTS %windir%\System32\config\COMPONENTS

Do you get an error?

it says :-
error: the configuration registry database is corrupt.
and when I started to update it actually started but it gets stuck at 4% everytime.
any suggestions on that.

I advanced restarted my pc now am updated to windows 8.1
now the problem is I am not able to download the windows 8.1 windows updated.
it gives an error code
am inserting an image of it

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, I have just returned from my holidays.

As the hive is to corrupt it wont be able to load, you will need to perform a fresh install of Windows or try a repair install of Windows.
