I have a Samsung S27D360, which I've had for about 4-5 years now I would guess ? Anyway, the problem I'm having with it, is that the screen will basically blink on and off to a black screen. Turning off the the monitor and back on again, gets rid of the problem. I don't get the same behavior from my 2nd monitor. In fact, just that 2nd screen being on, seems to stabilize the main screen.

I did have a bad cable going to my 2nd monitor which I replaced, but the problem is still present. I can't see it being the Graphics card as my 2nd Monitor gives me no issues at all. I'm also running a new install of Windows 10, but it's not related to windows as I've seen it doing this blinking as I would call it, on the post screen. Thoughts ?

So you are running in a dual monitor setup? If so, try swapping the two monitors to see if the problem moves with your current Monitor 1 or switches to the new Monitor 1.

Also, it is very rare for cables to go bad after it had been working fine. In fact, I have never seen it. They can however be damaged, or even subject insect, rodent, or puppy dog teeth or some other physical damage.

The cable I replaced was somewhere around 8 years old, and it was definitely bad. Whenever I would lift up the cable or move it around, the screen would go black. My 2nd monitor is a 55 inch TV which is beside my pc desk. I could use it, in a pinch but it doesn't seem very practical.

I had to e-cycle a 19" Samsung monitor because it would go black at shorter and shorter intervals until eventually it would only stay on for less than a minute. It probably needed a new resistor but a) I didn't feel confident enough to pry off the back plastic housing b) I don't have soldering skills and c) I could not find anyone willing to fix it probably because the labor cost would be more than the cost of a new monitor.

That's what I'm worried about as well, seeing as my SSD eventually failed itself. I bit the bullet and got a 32 inch off Amazon. Curved non 4k, because I don't want or need 4k.

I am just saying it likely is not age of the cable that caused the problem. In this case, it sounds like one of the connectors was damaged some how. Anyway, I am glad you figured that one out. So often, people don't even think about cables.

As for you TV, not sure what to suggest. But one of the most conclusive ways to isolate monitor problems is to swap in a different monitor and see if the problem remains, or goes.

Well I kept using the monitor and it would only give me problems here and there, until tonight. It kept blinking to a blank screen, and turning it on and off would help for a couple minutes.. It got progressively worse from there. It got so bad I turned it off and reverted to the TV which ran fine.. Now the monitor switching from HDMI to Analog a few times in a row, and then just sits at a blank screen. I get no picture from it. It's a good thing my new monitor should be here this Monday. I figured it was dying, but I didn't think it would die this quickly.
