Dear all,

I hope some of you guys could guide me towards the solution of this f*******g problem my laptop is experiencing.

Some data:

Samsung NP350V5C-S06IT
Windows 10 Home x64, upgraded from previous windows installations

When I try to upgrade my Win10 to the new 1511 version, windows update fails giving me no error.
If I use(d) the MediaCreationTool to upgrade, somehow it shows the error in the title, freezing the installation procedure.
The error seems to originate from a dll, msvcrt.dll, checking the event viewer log.
I have problems with a Secureguard driver, that I am certain I have uninstalled (it came with Easy Settings from Samsung), but somehow still bugs my laptop.

No matter what, this error keeps popping up.
Reading across the internet, I've seen that language might be a problem, so I set ALL to English-US).

Halp? :D

Here is the minitoolbox log, and attached my CBS folder (full of ****, I warn you)
SFCFix gives no problems.

I would like to check if setup has been configured to run in compatibility mode.

Command Prompt

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Right click on the Start button and choose Command Prompt
  2. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter

    reg query "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers"

  3. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colors by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
  4. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your reply.

I see no compatibility problems, sadly!

Windows Update just tried to install the update.

Guess what?
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200D: Upgrade to Windows 10 Home, version 1511, 10586.
Event ID: 20.

On Windows Update screen there is no useful information shown (as you see)

And, my Windows Error log is crawling with errors every time I boot (see attached).
Most of them seem solvable, though.

Follow the instructions here to configure your computer for a clean boot: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

Once that is complete, reboot and try running Setup again.

No luck.
Browsing online, I've seen that there's no reasonable solution.
I'll go with a clean install from the iso, sadly.
I'm worried about losing something important, but I'll try and backup all my important stuff.
