I'm dealing with a failure of DISM to restorehealth. It complains about missing source files and apparently they are largely related to KB4512495 which doesn't seem to exist on MS site for download anymore.

In the CBS log I get a lot of messages like the following where the package numbers are different:
Code:
Repr:Not able to find matching update for package, Package_4510_for_KB4512495~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.1.8

And then I get the following missing payload messages:
Code:
(p) CSI Payload Corrupt amd64_microsoft-windows-mail-core-dll_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.14393.321_none_92685f34c327f34d\MSOERES.dll
Repair failed: Missing replacement payload.

Would you be able to provide me with the missing payloads so I can get CBS and DISM happy?

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Can you please post the CBS logs.
  • Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\Logs folder.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
  • Click on the Yes button here.

  • Attach the file CBS.zip to your next reply.

I managed to fix the payload corruption on those 3 files by pulling out WinSxS files from older backups. However I still have the missing packages for the KB4512495. Haven't been able to figure out when those disappeared in order to find the backup date that would have the right ones in it.

CBS log is attached.

Hi,

Step 1. Download
56f31e53c97da-SFCFix.PNG
SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Please run the System File Checker.
  • Click the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, and press enter.
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
  • Take a screenshot of the commandprompt window and paste it into your next reply.

Thanks so much. Those missing files fixed things up.
I'm curious, how do you guys get your hands on files like these that MS doesn't have available on their site anymore? And any idea why the windows update site quit having things available that apparently haven't been superseded but were installed in the past?
