So for the last month or so I have been getting micro stutter in pretty much every game. My system specs are very decent and I have never had this issue before, so I'm guessing its either a ram, cpu or HDD issue. It started back when I had my old graphics card (HD Radeon 6990) and I would get freezing in quite a few games for about 1-2 seconds and then it would recover, this happens a couple of times a minute usually. I noticed the FPS drops to 0 as does the graphics card load when it freezes. I usually run all games on maximum settings at 60++ fps but this issue still occurs when all settings are set to the lowest. I'm pretty sure it isnt my graphics card as I had the issue on my old card, and still on my new card (GTX 980). I also know this isn't a temperature issue as I have watched cpu and gpu temps very carefully, I also have the corsair h100 for my cpu and windforce cooler for my gpu so everything stays cool. I ran a windows memory diagnostic a few days ago and it found nothing wrong with the RAM using that. I did download MemTest86 but did't get around to running that yet. Loading screens take a while and I think that's due to my x2 1TB hard drives full of games having slow read times, but could this be a cause of the micro stutter also?
I really have no idea what is causing this fps drop but its getting really annoying and I'm not entirely sure whats causing it and how to fix it. The only thing I have really done is ran that Windows memory diagnostic. GPU drivers are all up to date. Any advice or help on finding where the issue lies will be greatly appreciated. Provided all the information I can think of, but if you need any more just ask.
Thanks in advance :)
