Hi folks,

Over the past six months I've tried about every thing I could find to get certain Windows updates to install, including two long days watching MS Tech Support stumble around in my PC via LogMeIn. When they were done, I still had a list of uninstallables, but the list had changed to contain updates dated 2015 and 2016! I really think my Win7 is hopelessly hosed, but I don't have time or interest in doing a clean install unless it can't be avoided. I've pasted some more details below, after the log from SFCFix.exe, in case they help.

Here is the link to my CBS.zip: CBS.zip - Google Drive

SFC /scannow resulted in: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

Please let me know if I can provide any more info.

Thank you very much for any help/advice you can offer!

summary of my efforts:
- two hours-long Live Chats with MS, culminating in a "supervisor" who was trying to install updates for EMBEDDED Windows in my Win7 Pro install on my desktop PC! I finally stopped him and he promised to have MS tier 2 Support call me. They never called.
- Virtual Agent
- two different Windows Update Troubleshooters
- downloaded the most recent Servicing Stack Update (was already installed)
- stopped and restarted wupdate service
- ran Windows Update as administrator
- clean boot
- disabled my security software
- tried to install the standalone packages of the updates
- SFC /scannow

Hello and welcome to Sysnative!

It's very sad to hear about your problems. But you've (finally) come to the right place! If it can be fixed, we will fix it.

Upon reviewing the logs you provided I saw errors in CheckSUR.log that were never addressed. Let's start with those.

Please do not attempt to install any updates until I tell you to.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Afterwards, please run SURT and attach CheckSUR.log.

Thank you.
